So hypothetically speaking, would ya'll be more hyped for Detox if you heard Dre was going back to the lab and delaying the album until next year?

No he needs to release it and be done with it. He can always make more tracks and heaven forbid another album.

Well he wouldn't need to wait another year he just has a PR challenge to get the mainstream to forget all the tracks released so far. Then he can just release the Detox he made with DOC and the rest of the crew. DOC made it sound like a classic that is on the same level as the previous Chronic's.

Personally I agree with you and think he should at this point forget everything. Every beat, every reference track etc. This year he should make sure the other guys like Game, Slaughterhouse and Fiddy on his label make good - classic albums. At the same time all his old crew need to unite and just make an album. They really should separate themselves from what has been happening to mainstream hiphop over the years and all the bullshit built up for Detox. If those guys just make an album the way they want and not just ticking off a checklist then it will be another classic.

Dre just needs to realise people want beats by him not Alex, Khaled or some other guy who had a song on the charts for a couple of months.

Detox is going to suck. Regardless of how many times he remakes it or how long he takes on it. It's just meant to be like that.

I still say Snoop is the best freestyle MC I've ever heard.
Ya know, as far as mainstream guys, I think I'd go with Ludacris.

He had some ridiculous off the dome stuff, in the booth on Rap City. Shockingly brilliant.

Snoop is definitely one of the best freestyle emcees, his off the dome shit is usually better than the shit he puts out on his albums. IIRC, some of the tracks on Doggystyle like Tha Shiznit and Gz And Hustlas were just him goin into the booth and spittin a freestyle.

As for Dre, the guy needs to drop a mixtape or something to hold people over and restore some faith while he starts an album from scratch with his old crew. He needs to give up trying to be a fruity ass pop star with the number one song on the radio and just make some great music. He's the legendary Dr. motherfuckin Dre, not Drake or B.o.B.

I like how Snoop, the man who showed the world he needs a ghostwriter so badly with the Doggfather, is acting like he is important as the DOC for Dre making a proper west coast album..

Snoop always thinks he is more important or instrumental than he really is. He needed Dre's production and ghostwriters. What did that leave him to do?

Still when he does do interviews he usually says some honest real stuff. He once called out hot 97 and Angie Martinez for not playing from the west coast.

Yeah but he bounced back. He does great work with hooks, and probably brings really good vibe to a recording session.

Anyone know of similar kinda hip hop? lyrically deep and similar fantastic instrumentals? I'm also a huge fan of Outkast, who I also consider some of the very best.
There is none. No one does it like The Lo.

Black Connection III is incredible.

VURN - Elevation (Mixtape)

First leak I heard was Dollaz Over Ppl Feat. skuFL, probably going to be good..
I just listened to it- for a second there I thought there were just gonna freestyle over that beat, and I would have instantly closed that tab. They switched it up enough to do it justice though, dling now.

What the fuck happened to RZA, as an MC? He make have fallen off harder there, than he has as a producer.

Gaf's hate for Mackelmore is odd. I thought the Ryan Lewis tape was really solid. It wasn't mindblowing or anything but there were some really great tracks on there. The End was one of my favorite tracks of 09/early 2010.
