Best guilty pleasure in a long time. Album is hard as fuck. My 8 month of daughter has a crazy reaction to it. Never seen her bop to anything this much, and she gets exposed to a lot of music.
Don't sleep on Flockaveli GAF. Put the backpack stuff back in the backpack this month. ;]

Hey, you like what you like. Fuck a guilty pleasure. Too much hate going on internet-wide for, well, any artist to give a shit what somebody thinks over some forum. That being said...

I think thats because your daughter and Wocka probably have the same level of education, I guess she has a better vocubulary though.

...this shit is hilarious. :lol

Yes it is. I thought we went over this topic already in this very same thread. OT, who the hell is that gorgeous women in haRson's avatar? That big headed girl is hot.

I can't emphasize enough how much I'm feeling Death Is Silent right now. Like gatdayum, this is insanely good. By far one of the quickest listens I've heard in years, in all the best ways. I hit play, and all of a sudden I'm at the outro just completely zoning. Great nighttime album.

PS: They Told Me is hypnotizing as hell.

Agreed on all accounts. The vocal sample in They Told Me is incredible. And Kno's verse on "Spread Your Wings" is one of the most heartfelt I've ever heard. It's overtaken The Roots' "How I Got Over" as album of the year for me.

EDIT: The fuck? Amazon.de has gone crazy, I just bought:

Flipsides (Groove Attack Compilation)
Good Music - Lone Catalysts
Extra Credit - Theory Hazit
Hi-Teknology Vol.2
By Design- Grand Agent
Superrappin Vol. 2 (Groove Attack Compilation)

for 24€ :D All brandnew

One of my favorite things Hi-Tek has done post BS. One of his best too IMO. His production will never be as good as it was here.

"I Wish I Was Dead" is my favorite. Great beat and Tonedeff KILLS it. I need to stop sleeping on him :lol

No clue. My friend sent the picture to me the other day, here's a bigger version: http://imgur.com/t66kh.jpg

I'm starting to wonder if she's even 18 though...

The hello kitty pendant and hair style/make up makes me think no.

Yeah, every time I listen to the album I have a new favorite but I think that's my overall winner. Kno really stepped outside of his comfort zone with the beat and, as you said, Tonedeff's verse is incredible.

That money would be better spent on the new Pimp C album...And you could do the same thing with it.

Not even same genre. Close though.

Yall need to check out Hard in the Paint and Bangin. Just bring the shit up on youtube. Most important thing is to crank it.

Anyone here listen to Kokayi's "Robots & Dinosaurs" I listened to 2 of the tracks on QN5 and I'm feeling it. Thinking about buying.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045NG1WE/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I bought it. Not as strong as Kno's album, but there are definitely some good tracks on the album. Kokayi's pretty unknown though. "Only", "Over There", and "Ninety Five" are my favorites.

edit- you can get it for $7 over at bandcamp if you wanna buy it.

You act like people haven't heard Hard in the Paint...That shit is mighty old, and has already been ripped by dozens of better rappers.

Bumped a few new albums today.

C of Tranquility. I have to say, this is probably the best production on a Canibus album. He also still has similar rhymes, intensity, etc. My only issue is his songs seem "empty." He says the same battle rhymes, 10-dollar words but there doesn't seem to be real themes (childhood, reminisce, beef, love, flossing, crime, etc). Probably a 3.5/5 but there might be upswing.

DJ Kno Death is Silence. I like the beats, the album's theme. I don't like Kno's rhyming. It's blatantly stealing Eminem. I prefer to hear Kno's beats with the Cunny.

KRS-One/BDI. This album came out awhile ago, but never listened to it. Definitely surprised. But I'll reserve judgment.

How? Kno actually made a point to have a unique delivery/flow on each song. Compare "I Wish I Was Dead" to "When I Was Young", for instance. Totally different. You could say he stole em's style on a single song, maybe, but he was very versatile through the entire album.

got damn!!! I think I found my new favorite rap group!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAP2cHarzHQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrMe-gIc1dI

and it's cool that they got a heaps load of solo stuff as well... it's as if I discovered a treasure chest full of classic underground hiphop, and Im lookin maad forward to getting the fukk into it!!!

btw, one of my favorite things about music (and games too since Im more into that retro stuff) is when I discover something old that's always existed but I never knew about and it thus becomes new to me!! Like the first times I heard Great Adventures of Slick Rick or Paid in Full or The Infamous or Livin Proof years and years after their releases.

so yeay, fukk u guys who cry over artist XYZ's album getting pushed back or not coming out or being stalled stupid or whatever...

next time instead of QQ, go back and find something old or something u slept on!! Old is the new new!!

Kinda the same thing but I love going back to albums from my childhood. I was stuck on Missy's SupaDupaFly for like 2 months early this summer. That and branching out with affiliated artists of some of your favorite ddues. Spent a lot of time with Boot Camp Clik shit and BMM earlier this year :lol

I was the guy pimping Qwel and Typical Cats. Glad to see people appreciative of them. I think anyone that listens to them would have no choice but to love them.

Hardly anything I listen to is new. Partly, because I'm too busy catching up. I only got into underground music 4-5 years ago or so, and even then, my artist selection was limited. Largely, though, it seems as though the movements that truly inspired me in hip hop are dead and gone (For now. Seems there may be rumblings of a Renaissance of some sort).

All the artists that influenced me have long since settled into their own skin, unfortunately, with the possible exception of Aesop. It's a larger symptom of just getting older, it seems.

The bass on "Bang" is worth it alone. As far as holy fuck, punch a dude in the face hard ass music goes, you won't get much harder than this, this year. Save maybe a Boosie mixtape.

BANG BANG BANG! WE IN THIS BITCH THROWIN' GANG SIGNS MAAAAAAYNE

Pour yourself a drink, roll one up and pop in Call of Duty. Blow those subs out.

Call of Duty and Flocka? :lol

I bought Pimp C's album off Amazon last week, just now really listening to it.

up-pimp_c.jpg

I am loving this. I think it is better than Bun B's latest release. Bun definitely was going for mainstream attention, this is straight country rap tunes. Sounds like a UGK album.

my 2 favorites are also the 2 featured on 2K11. I had a couple pairs of each of those in the late 90s when they launched.

Really most of the Jordan's were cool through the patent leather 11's. But if you look at some of the last few....jesus they just ran out of ideas.

YES...Thank you!

Just checked out Fashawns Boy Meets World and the Illmatic one. Liked Ode to Illmatic better but one of the BMW songs featured Blu and I want to check him out.

Where should I start out with Blu?

It's probably a bad thing. Hopefully once he's out of Def Jam, he can just link up with Rae and let him exec produce a new album and find beats Ghost is great with.

I just realized tonight that "I like the whopper, fuck the big mac" is the most random ass diss in the history of hip-hop

edit: Nice! Def Jam Rapstar ad on Premier's turntables :p

Is anyone looking forward to Hopsin's new album? I just started listening to him, and he's great! Reminds me of old Em.

The reason GhostFace beats are garbage as of late is because DefJam don't want to clear(Basically pay) most of the samples they use on the beats he likes.

so I think that Kno's album dropping today would be the most prolific new release,

but I really wanna give a heads up on something I have really been looking forward to that I hope doesnt get slept on:

611BlM3p3fL._SS500_.jpg

new El Da Sense album; GT2 Nu World

sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwMHOpt7jcI

if u dont kno who EDS is, he was a member of The Artifacts along with Tame One in the nineties, who together dropped two classic albums before breaking up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJXyZeyNuFI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKzfDxj5hBA

I think underground rap fans may have heard of Tame One before?? either thru his afilliation with the Weathermen Crew or the album he did with Del last year.

but I havent really been impressed with Tame's solo career...

EDS on the other hand I consider to be a staple of emcee that I can always depend on to never fail to impress me, similar to a Masta Ace or a One Be Lo.

I had Strange Journey Vol.2 by CL come in this afternoon, quickest listen I've had in a while. I don't really want to go into a long winded analysis but I will say it's pretty hype. Great selection of songs and the remix to The Park is absolutely crazy.

Also had I F*cking Hate Rappers come in on Monday. PackFM came through with another great album, he really nailed the theme. Just when I thought, "damn this dude is hateful" out comes I F*cking Like Everything :lol I wish Nasty was a bit longer but overall top album. Got a signed copy too which is pretty sweet.

Since I was on a bit of a QN5 trip I bought Death is Silent from bandcamp, I couldn't say no for $9 for FLAC files compared to shitty Itunes' supposed HQ 256kbps crap that costs $17 here. I'll probably wait on it so I can enjoy SJV2 a bit more, but yeah I'm pretty satisfied with those 2 albums.
