Nice. I just got my copy last night. It's good.
It's sort of a weird game in structure, and so different from previous Metal Gears, but it's really fun.
I also got the collector's edition guide lol. I don't think I've bought a strategy guide since GTA: Vice City, but with all the tapes and secrets and shit I wanted this one. Probably don't need it, but meh.

on a scale of garbage. no way is jay rock better than gibbs, especially in the gangster rap lane he excels at.
new metal gear has inferior voice acting and the story presentation has taken a backseat to previous games (kind of a good thing after the shit that was 4 tho tbh) but man the gameplay is so fun. it's likely gonna end up being the most fun metal gear solid game ever. great end to the series. i'm only on mission 5 with 10 hours in, addicting.
Even as someone who's interested in Jay Rock's solo album, he can't touch Gibbs imo. Few can really.
I also don't like Kiefer nearly as much as Hayer (though I keep reading people saying they hated Hayter?? I guess???).

Agreed on the voice acting. I want to love Troy Baker as Ocelot because sometimes he sounds pretty great (like the desert speech with the "bring the legend back to life!" line from E3) but he's way inconsistent in his tone and accent. Wish they would have just gotten Patric Zimmerman to come back and do a younger version of the MGS 1 Ocelot.

After playing Peace Walker (which really liked) and seeing the gameplay of this I figured it would be the realized version of what he tried to do in Peace Walker. The fact that I'm hearing how good the gameplay is the most important thing imo the story stuff while jarring sounds cool since you can play the tapes during gameplay like codec.
Nice lol I can already imagine myself doing some shit like that.

No need to get deep. Gibbs has a better voice, top tier flow, better hooks, is more versatile, and actually puts out music in a timely manner.

All that is subjective, Jay Rock does all that better in my opinion. In terms of releases, I don't need rushed products. I can enjoy an album and not need one every time. In fact I think it's better to wait a while. It's kind of like in gaming I prefer a game to not release that often like COD. gta rarely comes out and that is how I prefer it, you start to want it more.
Didn't know an opinion would get you heated with all of these cheap shots...but it's all love though.

I can't really see an argument for Jay Rock being a better rapper than Freddie Gibbs. Flow, lyrics, amount of standout tracks, projects/albums....Gibbs wins all that shit.
I fux with Jay Rock obviously but Freddie is top 5 for me right now (counting active, "new" non-legend rappers) whereas Rock isn't in my top 10.
