Bringing the revisit of the 2nd wave of BCC albums to a close is Originoo Gun Clappaz' M-Pire Shrikez Back.

...and what a bad note to end on. Not even gonna lie to ya'll, it was a bit of a chore getting through this album. The best tracks are the title track, "Bounce To The Ounce", "You're Not Sure To See Tomorrow" (though Buckshot and Smif-N-Wessun did a MUCH better version of this), and "Dirtiest Players In The Game" (featuring Heltah Skeltah as the Fab 5 which was supposed to lead into a full Fab 5 album but Rock leaving Duck Down put a stop to that). The rest range from painfully average to flat out skip-worthy with "Girlz Ninety Now" and "Slo Mo" being the biggest offenders. I'm guessing the former was paying homage to some old school shit but it just wasn't good, and the latter I just refused to put up with. You can toss all the skits in the bushes after that cringeworthy Joe Clair skit too.

What's there to say for their performance? It's almost like Da Storm with Starang being the front man for the group while Louieville and Top Dog play backup as far as rapping ability, but this time Top Dog kind of lays in the cut for a good stretch of the album while Louie tries to go back and forth with Starang with middling results. Starang makes countless subliminals towards Junior Mafia after getting jumped in D&D for clowning Biggie but over tracks like these, it just seems rather pointless.

Like I said, it was a pain getting through this, and I couldn't even finish some songs. 4/10. They never followed this up and I can't say I blame them.
Was originally gonna give it a 5 but fuck that.

For the 2nd wave overall though, it really wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. This was the only clunker and Black Moon managed to put out an album that could arguably be considered better than their classic debut. I could tackle the 3rd but this is good enough for right now.

I could have sworn it was a porn star lmao. That chick is fine tho.

Not surprising at all that these conscious rappers are savages tho. Reminds me of Talib Kweli being out here trying to dick down every white chick he can find at his shows. What's up with pro black rappers are pawgs lol. You just know Questlove hasn't touched a black woman in a decade.

He also dropped the video for Broke today. I thought it was okay when it dropped but listening to it again it just sounds like every other Buddens song. Right down to the verse beginning with him reminiscing about times we loved each other but now we take separate Ubers home, etc.

Still can't believe the way TDE did Jay Rock. Also why let him leak thar title track even if it doesn't make sense the album. Why not promote the Kendrick featured track or try to play his affiliation with Kendrick and Dre even more? Maybe capitalize on the success of Compton and the NWA biopic.
