Pretty much nothing makes sense with TDE.Still can't believe the way TDE did Jay Rock. Also why let him leak thar title track even if it doesn't make sense the album. Why not promote the Kendrick featured track or try to play his affiliation with Kendrick and Dre even more? Maybe capitalize on the success of Compton and the NWA biopic.

Can we all just agree that Top Dawg Entertainment is a dumb name?
All those things are outright unlikely, a shot in the dark and/or too expensive for Jay Rock, especially if it's only TDE backing him now financially (as far as I can tell from the wiki, there is no major distro behind him ATM).They're mastering the art of overthinking simple shit. Your point about Dre/NWA is perfect. He couldn't get a Dre beat on the album, or placement on Compton, or anything to give him some buzz? He couldn't get a Mustard beat last year when dude was on fire? I understand wanting to be different and stand on your own feet but when you're a bottom tier artist (popularity wise) like Jay Rock you need all the help you can get. And when you have amazing connections you gotta exploit them.
They had a real good shot at having a nice 2-3 year run. Instead I think it's safe to say "TDE" is basically finished. It's all Kendrick, with Q getting some shine too.

Jay Rock is doing the right thing for an artist of that caliber and potential, which is sticking mostly in-house and close collaboration to begin building his momentum. Just seems like Rashad made more of his circumstances with less of a name and less full projects in.
EDIT: And did anyone post this interview with Justus talking about how the whole Compton thing came to be? Dude sounds and looks like a younger MGK.
Everyone has recorded for Detox, big whoop. And it's not like you could have predicted who would have ended up on Compton beyond Em/Game/Kendrick. Dre also is super selective about who he gives beats out to recently, which is almost exclusively those 3 aforementioned artists. Dre collabos are not predictable or consistent in any way; he hasn't put a beat on an Em album in like 5 years.Jay Rock has been in the studio with Dre multiple times and recorded for Detox. I'm going to assume that getting Jay Rock on Compton or getting a Dre beat on 90059 wasn't a financial decision - it was a time and direction issue.

What's the context of this?
Stealing posts is okay though?
Okay. Just making sure.
Stealing posts is okay though?
only when it has to do with someone who's gonna sell 17-38k, word to JCStealing posts is okay though?
Last year, Macklemore came under a lot of criticism after the Grammys for being a White guy who came in and took a lot of awards, in a lot of peoples eyes, away from somebody like Kendrick Lamar. Did you have any hesitation about working with him because of something like that? What was your view on that whole situation?
MM: Actually, I wasnt aware; Im not totally in tune of a lot of what goes on in hip-hop [now] because its based on this little petty beefery that, you know, Im 54 years old and a lot of that goes over my head. So I didnt really hear about it. But I knew from the records that he made that this was definitely something that you were going to go into with both eyes open. And at the end of the day, it turned out to be that he was trying to get to that next level. And that goes back to what Im saying; the authentication thing. It was a planned move; he had a plan and the plan worked. Because what Im gonna say from here on in is that hes a good dude, hes a real dude and hes a friend to hip-hop. Thats what Im gonna say.
And my whole thing was this: I know for a fact that J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar or Rick Ross or Jay Z or any of these cats, they would not have done it. Ever. They would not have done it. It took him to do it. And all those other so-called real cats, they should hang their heads. Because somebody should have done it by now. They could have reached back to any of us. If youre making records and you say youre hip-hop, youre supposed to have a connection to what hip-hop really is. And nobody made that connection until Macklemore made the connection. And Ive had this conversation quite a few times since everything happened and had that little controversy of, yeah, the White boy, using the OGs, or blah blah blah. And like I said, none of those other guys would have ever done it. And its a shame that thats the reality of what the game is right now.
It might just be that track with both of them?
Really, really smooth. Especially that Jon B track. So good. This new Abhi//Dijon... whew
Alright JC I lied, I don't need 3 weeks: I'm not feeling MGSV.
I'd put the mechanics up against any other game, and when you're in the middle of a good infiltration it's like you're playing the best thing ever, but as soon as I take a step back from those moments, I realize I don't like anything else about the game. The presentation, the world, the (non) story, the characters, Mother Base, the game's structure, the grind for resources/weapons, the twists....none of it.

Basically. Might still end up on the top 10 cuz the highs are so high and they are many, but so much of it is...no me gusta
The irony of me going back to Destiny this month tho

Is MGSV worth buying tho? I didn't bother yet but it looks like the backlash train is starting
So nobody checking for Juicy J's new mixtape though...
He dropped a mixtape? Nice, I will check it out friday. As far as ignorant shit goes, he is a tier above Future.
