That's a great track.

I like Post Malone tbh.

Is MGSV worth buying tho? I didn't bother yet but it looks like the backlash train is starting

I'm a huge MGS fanboy and think it's an exceptional game, but man: some of the design decisions are not only baffling but downright idiotic. I'm not talking about that 'boo hoo Quiet is half-naked' shit, but stuff like EVERY mission showing credits (!) at the start which spoil the characters who appear in that mission, or that weird ass traversal system where you can't fly from one point to another (which is possible on Mother Base for some reason), level geometry that is shockingly limited at certain spots in terms of interaction (you can't even climb every rock) and so on. Will write down my thoughts when I'm through with it, but yeah: it's weird how uneven streamlined the gameplay is and I think it's fair to say that this is a very 'Japanese' take on the open-world concept.

All in all though it's still easily one of the better games I've played this year. Sitting at only 34% so no idea how the story will play out (other than the obvious shit).

Ah, I guess Frank makes sense. Views would be lit though.

I think both Frank and Views will come out 2016

Who would have thought that the only release that is managed worse than To Pimp A Butterfly this year is another TDE product?

Like.. what the fuck man. This is not how a modern label should approach something like this. This REEKS of desperation and puts the entire label in a bad light. Kenny is the golden goose and I can't wait for him to leave that shithole of a label.

At least post the right link b

What makes you so sure he will leave?

Nanomachines son

Also, why would Views come out next year? 2015 is crowded, but there's no reason it'll be lost in all the commotion.

I think Kendrick is at a point where he needs a label that can push him further than TDE can; a label that not only knows the basics but is capable of surprising people.

Kendrick will have to realize that you can't just stay with your homies forever when you want your music to grow further and further. Sure you don't have to pull an Abel and sell your soul, but I think Kendrick knows that things need to change - otherwise he wouldn't have tweeted those tweets when the first sales numbers for TPAB were released.

I can see him sticking to his homies but I as a fan am fed up with TDE's sabotage and would like to see him somewhere else

Just a feeling, really. I don't think he has to fear the competition but I bet he was surprised himself how well his throwaway mixtape held through 2015 and then the beef came and he got another big push from that. Plus he released enough free material this year to fill an entire album. I just think at this point he can take all the time he wants for it and push it to next year. But big chance I'm dumb and it'll hit sooner than we think

Kendrick is basically an Aftermath artist now which probably isn't that much better. But I don't think anyone at TDE manages Kendrick anymore.

I guess I could see that. Breh went platinum off a surprise mixtape and his diss was #1 on iTunes (not to mention all the remixes and non album tracks like Hotline Bling). He doesn't really need another album out this year.

Hope I'm wrong, though.

Ehh being a Aftermath artist is fine when you have the cachet that Kendrick has (or Em has or Prime Curtis had). Plus he has an A1 musical team surrounding him (Ali, Sounwave, Terrace Martin etc etc) so that he doesn't have to run to Dre for shit.

Dre's only contributions to TPAB were that fake phone call in Wesley's Theory, saying it's dope when Kenny played the finished album for him, and slapping his name on the CD case as an EP (along with Top Dawg who did not a damn thing but that's neither here nor there). Dre can't give ya shit the infinite pushback if you don't let him touch the music.

Jon Connor, King Mez, and White Drake are probably fucked tho

Yeah I agree with this I'm about 15% into the game and I'm loving the game aside from a few things. Those shocked with how it differs from the other numbered series I can understand if you haven't played Peace Walker which much of the games engine and mechanics derive from but expanded upon in greater detail.

Might as well expand on this since people are still talking about MGS

I like it, as long as I rationalize it as a gigante VR mission generator.

The problem for me is that I've never appreciated VR missions as anything more than some cool bonus levels, so when the whole game feels like that aside from some sporadic cutscenes featuring a near mute protagonist and a bunch of dry side characters, there's nothing that I can connect to and use to drive me through these white bread stealth missions. I enjoyed MGS1 and MGS3 for very specific reasons, most of which are gone or play very little roles now- An obsessive focus on combat techniques and firearms. An entertaining cast of characters and villains. Anime but not too anime mix of militaristic, supernatural, and philosophical themes sometimes delivered like a wiki in service of grounding the narrative in some type of alternate reality Kojima-verse. Context sensitive real time codec calls. Well choreographed action cutscenes. Good pacing. Etc. etc.

Now there's little to no gun porn, combat styles play almost no role in characterization, all the info dumps are done through pre/post mission tapes (a narrative device I hate, btw) and are never driven by the player's curiosity in-mission, the series has gotten entirely TOO anime (and not in a good way like MGR: Revengeance) as evidenced by characters like Paz and Quiet or the cutesy D-Dog stuff, the cast is awful, etc. etc. This is on top of the entire Mother Base system and location which damn near puts me into a coma. MGSV sits alongside Destiny and Max Payne 3 recently at the table for "Mechanics I love surrounded by a game that makes me scratch my head."

MGS V and Max Payne 3 are much better than Destiny imo. MGS V does have some weird stuff though. Codec calls >>>>> tapes, story is weak, traversal isn't always great, etc.

Though I'm kinda tempted by that new Taken King thing, not gonna lie.

Haha, I don't mind GTA dislike, especially when people can communicate why they don't like it.

The GTA IV days were much darker. Whew, people hated that game.

I almost want to jump back into Destiny as well, but I dunno. I look at the videos and....it's still Destiny as hell. I don't think those wounds can heal until a big sequel tbh. I still haven't seen any of the mission design that Bungie impressed me with in Halo.

Plus JC abandoning the PS4 Destiny fam for the XBone so what's the point (; _ ;)

Q1 2016 is loaded though, lezz go

damn, lotta my hype is taking a hit here...i figured i just kept catching said roomie on more silent missions or something, that's a bummer

Codec is goat audio storytelling.

Fuck Bioshock style audio tapes. That shit is fucking awful.

yeah, i really did get tired of that style...i mean, i get letting the player choose to explore lore/etc a la say Metroid Prime, and making it less obtrusive that way...but tapes really aren't engaging.

Really though, Master Miller is a fucking twat.
Miller and Ocelot are both kinda lame. Ocelot especially. He was a really neat character in earlier games and one of the most important in the entire series, but now he just sort of sits at Mother Base for tutorials. Also not a huge fan of Troy Baker's casting for him.

damn, now im sad we didn't get this
related: wanna hit up some Black Moon but ive only ever fucked with Enter Da Stage, any recommendations?

War Zone is pretty great and lowkey better than the debut and while I haven't listened to it in a while, I remember Total Eclipse being solid.

you gotta get off that vitriolic "BLOCK ME I ON EEEEN GIVE A FUCK" life fam
But I don't

Nah man, I just hope people don't take me talking shit to heart because I'm just fucking around like 70% of the time.

I can see that being the case. I've just always found it odd when an artist is signed to numerous labels.

I think it also sometimes happens in a biding war. Where an artist will switch for greater pay, but the original label doesn't want to lose them. So they agree to co-sign which essentially gives the artist even more money than single label signing. It shares risk between the two labels, and the second biding label can capture the artist at a lower price than what they originally planned but still receive comparable return for their investment.

Master P- Get Away Clean

On February, 12th 1991, Master P released his debut album from out of his trunk entitled “Get Away Clean”. This album was heavily influenced by the west coast sound of the early 90s. So expect a lot of DJ scratching, samples out of the ass, and some good old gangsta shit. Tracks like Saxophone, Crooked Ass Law, and the album title track show off a bit of flow and lyricism from P and his fellow TRU mates like King George, Silk (Before he was known as Silkk The Shocker), and even his former wife Sonya C. Even though it’s well known that P is garbage on the mic, he really put some effort into this album with songs concerning being in the dope game, wearing rubbers, not taking bullshit, and putting foots into asses.

Overall, if you love” Quik is the Name”, “Niggaz4Life, and “We Can’t Be Stopped”…then Get Away Clean is worth a listen as you cruising in your Beemer sitting on Dayton’s.

FINAL SCORE: 7

I have little to no knowledge about any of this stuff, but it's starting to become more clear to me. My other question would be, who handles production of an album in this case? Is this something that is handled jointly? I know Interscope distributes the music.

I never understood this. So he's signed to both labels? How does that work?

He's on Interscope/Aftermath. TDE has a distribution deal with Kendrick and Q, basically. All the major label perks but they also have more control of their merch and other shit from what I understand.
