Nah man, go ahead and peep it and see how you feel about it because I might just be bugging right now

But...Contradiction's Maze puts me right in some swank hotel ballroom full of Oprah Winfrey dresses and Steve Harvey suits.

I dunno man

Fitting to check it out...

Where the Future x Drake at? That's all that's left for the best week of hip hop in years.

I hate to say it, but I just can't find the motivation to listen to new Migos projects anymore. It's really hard to churn out that much music and stay fresh. Thugger in 2015 has been a major exception to that rule.

that migos tape is pretty good. even the album is aight. people just got migos fatigue which is understandable. it's about time for quavo to toss the other 2 in the bushes.

all the new slime season tracks are good. i hate that a finished version of Talk To Me w/ Quavo from the leaks aint on it. track would be awesome with thugga filling in his parts.

GO:OD AM is really good. A bit long overall but really solid. Also Keef dropped a verse that I could understand and shit. That has to count for something.

k-dot alright got best video...medium sean as best lyricist is amazing to see though
i forget how small a pool these awards even grab from though, jesus it's sad

do lyrics really matter though?

take it back, this is OTXV's title right here

I really don't care about "lyricism" anymore.

you don't say

I was going to check out this album...but nevermind shit :/

really missing out here, fam - it's not for everyone but shit's still in my top 10

It's the BET awards man. You know it means nothing.

also this...i mean, shit's worth like half a grammy, think on that

Documentary 2 Tracklist

shit, there's a lotta names i like here...+1 on the hope-it's-at-least-as-good-as-jesus-piece camp
also really brave of him to ride solo on a few tracks there

Finally, Ab-Soul and the Black Eye Peas on one album.

just skimmed through all the snippets, the title track and the mula (ft ye) sound promising but they don't sound as hot as ali bomaye. the general vibe of the beats is very laid back. the song featuring diddy is basically the beat to Kick in The Door, which was a surprising as it doesn't really match the other tracks.

isn't this old? i swear i saw this video on youtube before

Yeah I definitely saw this before. As the Jay-Z verse was playing, I was like, "Isn't Ye gonna turn the instrumental down a bit and start spitting?" And sure enough he did. Complex dun goofed

Documentary 2 will have the best impressions of featured rappers by game

Going by that, that track with absoul will be the most scust thing this year

I was saying that when it dropped. Folks were pretty wore out by his shtick at the time. The album remains pretty damn good. Relatively speaking.

Checked out The Good Fight and it would be one hell of a instrumental album. I'm really not feeling Oddisee on this album at all. Matter of fact, I was never a fan when he use to rhyme with the Hall of Justus. Them pretentious rhymes that just keep going into a pit of nowhere turns me off.

Overall..it's aight.

I know he did some things with Little Brother but I don't think he was ever a full fledged Justus League member. Might've popped up on one or two of those Just Us bootlegs though.

But on this album, I'm halfway with you on his rapping. I actually think he flows his ass off on some songs, but lyrically man...pretentious, condescending, snobby, bougie...whatever you wanna call it, it's definitely a turn off.

There's a lot of sky and underneath it a lot of pie
And you don't need a bigger plate, just a smaller stomach
You fed up on the feeling once, and you convinced you want it
Well go and get it, be another statistic
Bit off more than you can chew and so you started to vomit
I don't go that route, I don't hang with them
I just go around the globe and not a turn for the stunting
And keep it all in house, the world is my backyard
Don't try and break my fence, nah

Or how about this hook:

Don't judge a book by its cover if you don't even read
There's no shame in saying that you're not up to speed
No you're just scared
Yeah you're just scared

I pretend that I listen a lot when people say things I don't really care about
In one ear and it goes out
And you wouldn't even notice that my head was in the cloud
But my inner voice really wanna shout
Quit crying you ain't dying
But I reply with legitimate advice like
"Keep trying they hiring"
But I really wanna tell them that they wasting time
More importantly they wasting mine
That's harsh and I'm not cold
Yeah I'm from the Capitol but I'm not bold
I guess I really am a nice guy
Keep handled that they don't win races
So I wanna be a track star
Laughing at the people tripping on they own laces
That's tasteless and I got style

And no, calling yourself out later on in the verse doesn't fix things.

Just a whole lot of talking down. I can take a materialistic rapper flossing on the next man because we all know it's bullshit, but for an "everyman" rapper to look down his nose at folks....nah breh.

Pretty much. This album was like Cosby cosplay: The Album (before the drugging of women :/). I was waiting for dude to say "pull your pants up and get a real job" wtf? I love a good bragging and schooling type of albums, but dude went hard in the paint on this one.

Here's a good example of how to do a "man up" album
