Is it weird that after multiple listens to WATTBA, I grew to appreciate DS2 way more?

Like a lot of people said, this felt like a rushed project; just two talented guys getting in a studio for a couple of days and having fun after receiving fire ass beats (even though Diamonds Dancing is what I consider a legit track: Godlike production, and a beast flow from both Fewtch and Drake; one of the few tracks that there's synergy, and one doesn't outwork the other)

You don't feel that about Scholarships? Bc that tracks perfect.

IMO Scholarships, Diamonds Dancing & Plastic Bag is where the synergy is at. All the other tracks I don't feel that balance; one's presence outshines or nullifies the other ya know?

Drake x Future is pretty good. Feels like Drake just laid down a few verses to some unfinished DS2 material, but frankly I was hoping that it'd sound more like a Future project than a Drake project anyway, so I'm happy.

Even though most of it slaps, the two don't really have a dynamic. Obviously, it's more on Drake to create some kind of chemistry because he's a more versatile artist, but he really doesn't do anything to complement/contrast what Future's doing. In fact, he basically sounds exactly like Future a lot of the time.

Overall I think it's a project that reflects much better on Fewtch than it does on Drake. From Hendrix, it's just another fire project. As something Drake would involve himself in, though, it's a bit mystifying; dude wants to be the Best Rapper Alive, but here he is sounding exactly like a guy whose style is as simple as possible, and playing second fiddle at that.

In the end, Drake kinda just showing that by putting his name on something, Future will sell 3-4 what he'd do otherwise. Its why he jumped on Versace, Tuesday, etc.

I've never seen Drake as more than meme/soundbite rap tbh. Dude's body of work is very mediocre. He still hasn't made a great album IMO. Every now and then he gets honest/introspective or croons longer than another artist will while letting the beat ride to create some atmosphere or whatever, but his projects don't come together to be more than the sum of their parts. How many times has he said something really clever, or biting, or had a theme/message to get across, or crafted a sequence of tracks that attempted to take you on some kind of journey as a listener, etc. etc. That article isn't a revelation. Anyone who expected Drake and Future to experiment or push the genre was kidding themselves.

Can't deny, dude can rap. How popular is he?

He's not popular but within Asians, he's very well known. Started as a battle rapper and that's how most people still recognizes him.

If you are interested, I would say his best work so far are his features or remixes with some originals here and there. When Forever came out, he had one of the hardest bars in the remix. Most of his past work were about girls, his hometown, or drinking. If you prefer something a bit more braggadocious or when he spits bars, I would wait until he gets more current work out.

@Grzi, damn it's been a minute since I heard of Dyme. I'm subbed to him on YT but I rarely check his new vids.

@Kyzer, I'm on mobile but I'm guessing it was his kick video? Nah that's definitely fake. He raps about it from time to time saying if it's real or fake just to troll his fanbase lol. Dudes a clown in and out of rap.

Ah ok, yeah I watched the battle between him and conceited cuz it came on after on YouTube and he mentions it. He's like nah it was real as real as the guns you rap about

Checking it out, right now. I've always thought that was Jerry Springer, lol.

Lmao. Maury is way chiller. Seriously the amount of trill he maintains with the craziness going on on his show is pretty amazing.

I'm really enjoying the new Mac Miller album. If you would have told me in high school (so like three years ago) I would enjoy a Mac Miller album, I would have thought you were crazy (cause I couldn't stand the dude's music back then)

It's good to see Mac Miller taking the right steps to move away from the frat-boy rapper he was a few years back

Same here felt like he fell off with Blue Side Park but after he released Watching Movies I've enjoyed everything he's dropped since.
