I almost hate to say it since I used to really appreciate his earlier work, but Cudi has officially reached "fuck it, not even gonna listen" status at this point (see also: Flab Soul). Based on his recent tracks and comments on twitter it's most likely gonna be more quasi-inspirational jams full of embarrassingly amateurish attempts at singing and shredding. Why bother. 🚽

Now you seen the light that has been shining for so long.

Tom Waits in Down by Law. Bowie in Man Who Fell to Earth. Bjork in Dancer in the Dark. Foxx in Ray, Django, or Collateral. Smith in Six Degrees of Separation.
I guess I don't really count Foxx because he's pretty much just an actor in my eyes. Ditto with Smith. I haven't seen Down By Law too.
Faye Wong in Chungking Express

(damn, tab open too long ha)
Oh damn. That's a straight masterpiece too.
Every Open Eye is the best y'all. Got me like
Still have to listen to this actually. Julia Holter has completely dominated my music life for the last three weeks.
Why is everyone trying to do a double album lately? Weird hype around it all of a sudden. Cudi gonna drop such a stinker, should be legendary.

I actually clicked the link this time and the second disc is actually just extras like demos and shit. So this one is thankfully just one disc of music.

G Herbo still just an atrocious name. Somebody listen to this and review it :]
I've never listened to a Kid Cudi project before and I'm grateful for that
You might as well. Can't see why you would so adamantly avoid it. MOTM 1 and 2 are good listens for sure. Kid Named Cudi too. Haven't checked them out in a minute, not sure how well they aged.
the title track. More and more it feels like the quintessential Outkast song, in its structure, sound, how the verses reflect the styles of the respective MCs.
This is probably my second choice. Yeah, as if the song isn't good enough too the ending smacks you in the mouth. Displaying pure lyrical/flow dominance.

Andre last verse is *insert dozens of fire emojis*. Kind of shit you hear for the first time as a youngin and get hooked on rap for life.

We got a lot of page left Muddy.

Lets run with this one. Favorite track? I'll go Da Art of Storytellin' (Pt. 1). Perfection.

SpottieOttie dude. That instrumental is just hnnnnnnnnnng.

i'm gonna go with damn damn damn damnnnnnnnnnn spottieottie but these are all excellent pics
and to think this group used to dump on aquemini, scust

I liked Man on the Moon 1 back in the day, but everything since has been baaaad. I haven't listened to it again recently though, so maybe it's bad too.

Slime Season it is, thanks. On first listen I thought this guy was too derivative of Wayne with a little bit of Future, but he's definitely doing some weird shit that neither of them would touch. And his ad-libs at the end of lines crack me me the fuck up.

Check his features and the dozens of songs he has on his YouTube but aren't released in a mixtape/album. The Blanguage might be my favorite song from him.

OK now I'm confused, Metro Thuggin was released or not? I was convinced it didn't exist, but I just searched and there are links and shit out there, including on datpiff.
It's definitely not out, you're probably looking at fan made tapes.

The real thing is stuck in limbo @ 300 according to Metro.

I thought it was legit by being on datpiff, but all these sites have different tracks and shit. So yeah, it officially doesn't exist like I thought, we are not worthy.

Born Like This was a alright album. It would have been better if Doom didn't use the same damn beats he been milking since 1999.

Born Like This has a couple tracks that feel like classic DOOM (Cellz, Gazillion Ear) without sounding like throwaways he was saving for years. The bigger problem is the mixture of recycled samples and the fake cartoon snippets. I'm sorry but sampling UFO should be banned if you don't do it differently from the billions of times that shit has been sampled. Lightworks...rappers, stop rapping over that beat, you can't do it. Angelz is an old track, and a few of the later tracks on the album also feel old.

And those skits...nah. I get that you can't get away with sampling Marvel cartoons anymore but please don't make up fake snippets again, it sounds terrible.
