There was a Tribe mix, an old unreleased Tammy Lucas song from '96 when The Neptunes were still working with Teddy Riley, People's Instinctive Travels... 25th anniversary is coming up and Pharrell has a Bonita Applebum remix for it (the song that inspired him to produce in the first place), Tip played and talked about working with Jungle Brothers, Pharrell with Clipse and on and on.

since im mostly grabbing up old shit that holds up for me, i'm less likely to grab new/current stuff physically unless it resonates in a way i think i'll wanna have like 5-10 years from now too...we'll see how that plays out though, i definitely go through phases (i.e., there's shit from the early to mid aughts i'd not fuck with as much these days...on the better end though? it's a shame i can't find blakcstar for a decent price)

The lowest I see for Blackstar is 20 dollars. Well worth it imo. Dudes were going in on that record.

Release a big album, do multiple live TV performances that garner hype and then don't tour for your album brehs. Pathetic.

I get that they cannot put together the amazing group of talent that created the album - Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Terrace Martin, Thundercat, all have their own careers. But we already know Kendrick was rehearsing with a band for months...and he debuted them on Colbert's show. Perfect opportunity to announce a tour right? Nope.

Now we get this one artsy show or whatever...nah. This is how you hurt your career brehs. This is the type of album you have to take to the people and make them appreciate in different ways. In some ways it's a great album for a live band. No excuse not to have something ready.

But you might say "bububu TDE World Tour guys! It's coming." Fuck that. Kendrick is in a position where he can do numbers on his own tour, with some decent opening acts (Vince Staples and Big Sean for instance). Jay Rock could have jumped on the tour after his album came out. Q could have done the same later this year.
