That gif bahahahha

Documentary 2......hmmm, I'm not sure what to say about this album. It's like Greatest Hits As Performed By The Game. Nearly every track reminds you of something else. Doesn't really have the hype or dark standouts of Jesus Piece.

This Premo/Dre beat though

Game is mad corny but you gotta give him props for getting bounced from G-Unit/Aftermath and coming back hard as fuck. I remember when dudes were automatically siding with 50 Cent on some "fuck Game shit, he's finished now."

Then 300 Bars dropped.
kZbCIR1.gif

Then One Blood dropped.
UY7EfYj.gif

Then Let's Ride dropped.

I still remember downloading 300 Bars & Runnin from Limewire

I also remember G-Unit made like "300 Shots" or some shit, but it irrelevant as hell

yeah he lasted much longer than i expected, but also 50 Cent's prominence in hip hop also fell.

I think if 50 was still as big as he was in the early 00s then Game wouldn't have much room for success now.

Brehs I was just listening to Runnin' today shit.

Tony "Rap Game Troy Ave" Yayo really had to curse the track with his wack ass smh

is it flame emojis or garbage bins

If it can only be one or the other then flame emoji.

After the dust settles I'll probably mark it as mediocre tho ayyyy

Top Tracks from The Documentary 2 (Disc 1?)

On Me
Standing On Ferraris
Dollar And A Dream
Made In America
Summertime - Favourite track right now
New York, New York

Other songs are decent. Kanye track is aight. Really should be cut off at one disc because I can't see disc 2 being at the same quality as disc 1.

The Massacre...I remember when that shit dropped in '05. Friends and I all knew it wasn't as good as GRODT, we knew it was a safe, overproduced sequel to something that originally had a huge surprise impact. We knew Gatman and Robin was lame.

But hey...it had Ryder Music b

You're the first person I've ever seen mention Ryder Music in my life, might be lowkey the best track on the album

I remember The Massacre being pretty huge when it dropped...the weekend it came out, I went to go chill on the corner and heard five or six different tracks off of the album in 15-20 minutes just from cars going by. After GRODT, everyone was hyped for 50's new shit. Everyone soon agreed that it wasn't all that, though everyone had some tracks that they liked.

It was huge despite everyone agreeing it was a much worse album. Strange time. Just proved how much 50 was running mainstream hip-hop tbh.

The Documentary 2 title track is A+ for real though. As bad as Jay Rock whiffed with his title track, The Game hit the mark. Premo + Dre came through on that instrumental. It's the one insta-keeper on the album imo.

Yea there's no denying the album was blaring nonstop and dominating radio but but I don't remember any of my friends thinking it was close to GRODT. Just too much corny ass shit. Gatman And Robin...

But I won't front it had some dope tracks. In My Hood, Ryder Music, Ski Mask Way, Guns Come Out, Position Of Power, God Gave Me Style.

Same thing happen with Graduation two years later. Clearly not on the same level as the last two, but they didn't stop everybody and their momma playing it, didn't stop Flashing Lights from being dope. Ye was too huge for the duds didn't matter.

gonna be honest as cheesy as candy shop was that beat was fire as well. scott storch was doing some great things with the keyboards back then.

massacre was a real disappointment after GRODT though, some standouts posted in here but I don't think I wanna really go back to it and find out if they hold up either.

I would almost put Graduation over late registration

of course you would, you're syphon filter. You use the same grinch smiliey every day regardless of context, without even removing the white box around it

A good song is good forever.

If you get rid of the corny tracks like Gatman and Robbin, Candy Shop, Just a Lil Bit, Build You Up, and So Amazing I think I'd be more accepting of The Massacre these days removed from the Get Rich or Die Trying expectations. There's some hard music on there when you get rid of the junk, alongside forgotten gems like Position of Power and A Baltimore Love Thing.

The Massacre would have been 5 stars at the time if it was released over GRODT. The album was such a damn banger it's mind blowing.

Ski Mask Way>>>>

RIP Disco D

There's a lot dope songs off the Massarce as mentioned already TBH there was a time I felt it was better than GRDT. Now nah but i still enjoy it a lot I'm
Supposed to die tonight, my hood, position of power, Ryder music, guns come out, Baltimore love thing.

The Massacre suck. Cant revise that.

i'm okay with these posts - it felt like a big dropoff, worse than graduation for me

Disco Inferno's beat is really good, 50 doesn't do it justice, though

he did alright by it but i remember wanting to hear the shit out of that instrumental when it first dropped

Dude pretends to be Biggie on at least two songs. It's weird.

Maybe Game's gimmick all along is a create a character. Dude forever jacking rappers styles and flows. He bit Tyler the Creator for fuck sakes :/
