Who fucking cares, as long as the songs are fire, which apparently they are. He is not a new artist trying to stabilish himself in the game, we've known his chameleon style for years.

No doubt some of his songs are flames, but dudes urge to pay tribute to every damn rapper he come across can be annoying at times. Doctor's Advocate was an example of Game's stannery going haywire.

I enjoyed the album though....

Game has his own cycle.

- Talks shit prior to release, possibly with a fight involved.
- Sorry not sorry 50 Cent interviews happen
- Fans all talk shit about the same things
- Album features are released. Inexplicably has every hot name in the game at the moment.
- People pretend to not give a shit, but won't stop talking about him.
- Album drops
- Fans say "Eh, it was weak, except for [insert 3/4s of the songs]"
- Years later, fans come back and say "Hey, you know [LAST ALBUM] was kinda fire.

Repeat.

Doris seems mastered much better and is overall more vinyl friendly I'd stake. I Don't Like Shit is probably my favorite Earl album now, but I definitely noticed a stout unevenness in the recording quality of the some of the tracks, which at times seem almost to purposefully make use of some compression haze, which when mixed with the warm fuzziness of vinyl might make for a bit of aural mess.

On the real, I haven't bumped I Don't Like Shit since it came out...it's not a bad album by any means, it's just......not Doris.

Yeah, I know what you mean. IDLS is an album that's best listened to with headphones.

Also,

IDLS > Earl > Doris

This year, I've read around the internets a little and I see a few people saying that EARL isn't a good album? Do you guys agree?

It's definitely good but he's matured a lot since then. Probably the best album from the entire Odd Future era catalog.

Earl is still Earl's best work, followed by Doris. Them vintage Tyler the Creator beats over cannibalism lyrics just screams timeless.

Yeah, I burned it for the car and it was a mistake. It's a great album for late nights at the computer. Some albums just aren't suited for a lot of situations and IDLS is one of those. That's cool too.

That's it though, I ran back through EARL, and like Bastard or Rolling Papers, the beats don't really hold up. They aren't bad beats but there is something about Tyler's fisher price signature that kind of brings the beats down in some way.

What I'm saying is that the cheapness in the production makes EARL not as easy to go back to.

Never expected anyone to ever say this ever.

I know their old material is weird as hell now, but Earl still bangs though....now Bastard, not so much.

He matured from holding down them two piece synth cords.

Timeless??? Naw man, that shit is already aged. That's the main reason I rank Earl low. I loved it when I was younger, but it's pretty corny. Doris is not as corny, but it is too dull.

IDLS is much better than those two.

A beat like Grown Ups, DNA or Wool, kind of nails that EARL sound while keeping the beat from sounding kindergarten made.

Timeless may have been a bad word to say, but it's still a good album to go revisit once a blue moon. Hell half of OF's discography had some gems on it despite the my first keyboard ass production on half of them.

Definitely not, it's still fucking fire, and extremely potent at nailing the nihilistic teen angst that still permeates at least one facet of my psyche. It's the opposite of being timeless, it's very much a primordial album that's nice to revisit whenever I slip back into that rebellious youthful phase.

Exactly. I dig the whole fuck everything movement that OF was doing at the time and Earl was the epitome of rebellious teen shit.
