Yea. At this point we pretty much know a Cole album is gonna be 60% string sections and soft drums. He experimented a bit on FHD, there's some trap influences...but overall I agree he needs to try something new.

I feel like he's headed in the right direction the other producers he used on FHD really helped the project for the better. At this point he'd need like Grover said a NO ID to really take his production to the next level.

KiD CuDi - JFKPSA. No vocals. I barely even recognize dude ^

Vic Mensa - Heat It Up Freestyle. Like the beat, raps are decent too.

Posted? King Los - Dipset Anthem freestyle. Dude went IN.

Also, it was all good just a few years ago. The most surprising thing? He used to talk to Wale.

New Order > Joy Division
New Order is definitely more my thing. Low-Life, Brotherhood and Power, Corruption & Lies are all so good and they had countless great singles in their prime.

I can't hate on anyone who thinks the opposite, though. Joy Division was 2/2 before Curtis passed as far as classic albums.

Mos cracked me up. "I'd rather be filing paperwork at the post office then sit around writing battle raps...for Lupe ? *laughs* "

Nah, this Compton record still knocks. Third listen, still loving it. Also, I wouldn't mind a new Xzibit record. I don't think he's got the money for it though.

Yeah I've listened through it like 5+ times and still loving it. It's crafted so well, production is amazing. The weak rapping becomes more noticeable the more I listen to it though, but only in a few spots. And I can't fuck with the people saying Eminem "went in" on his verse... That is the most grating verse on the album to me. Dude is straight up just screaming, no variation in delivery or flow, just like he's been the last 5-10 years. Kendrick, however, is so enjoyable on all his verses. He just sounds perfect over these Dre beats. Song with Snoop is fire, Ice Cube not so much. Overall I really like it a lot. At worst 8/10, at best 9/10. Gotta see how it grows on me over time.

Edit- In other news, am I the only one still listening to Summertime '06 on the reg? I just can't get enough of it. I took a break from it for a while when DS2 came out but I'm still going back to it. Thinking it's gotta be my AOTY right now. Tix just went on sale for Rocky, Danny, Tyler and Vince in the Chi for late September, $50. Think I gotta go to this. I've seen Danny and he's amazing live, and I'd be down to check the other three.

Yep.

That's why I've been surprised to see his most ardent critics on GAF and elsewhere praise this verse.

Its literally the same mode he's been rapping in since the BME:Hell the Sequel era.

Like you could tell me that's a cut off verse from Bad Guy (off MMLP2) and I'd believe you.
