once any one of those artists step up to Pusha T's level i'll show some respect, but so far

*yawn*

Let's be real. Neither of those groups made an album that stands up to HHNF. None.

None of these rappers aren't even near Big Sean's god-tier level.

my Outkast mix proves that Big Boi still makes Outkast music
So I missed it at the time, but it seems NME recently compiled a 50 Greatest Producers Ever list.
The link is worth clicking as they have provided Spotify playlists of each producers work, but here's the list in full anyway:

Hip-Hop is fairly well represented, especially if we claim Rick Rubin as one of 'ours.'
Regarding Hip-Hop producers, something that does stand out is the absence of Prince Paul!
He was at the forefront of sampling, created the skit and changed the genre forever.
I am happy that Timbaland got an adequate amount of acclaim though.

Anybody have any thoughts on the list?

No Quik, no West...and Neptunes too high

Here, I'll help you out.

"lol" = Denotes bemusement and derision.
Drake = A singer/rapper/former child actor who is once again trying to be tough. What happened with his beef with the tattoo artist?

He really ought to get on Kanye's level where he stays out of this shit and makes records.
Has nothing to do with Pusha T sucking sweaty nuts.
No DJ Quik or Blockhead, fuk yo list clown.

Ah yeah, it's aight. No hip hop culture for the most bit so it's a tad disappointing not having anyone to discuss it with. Expensive as fuck though lol. Sydney's nice, til you go out west

Ya boy has been eating BBQ meat, mac n cheese, and slamming Mike's Hard Lemonade all day. All while thinking of the bullshit I saw in this thread that made me want to call Comcast and cancel my internet to make it stop. Let me kick some knowledge

Part I

Raekwon and Ghostface have been rapping about the general same subject matter (stick ups, ballys, fuck boys, ninjas, etc) for decades. But any true hip hop fan, or Wu head, or general stand up dude will tell you they are NOT "one dimensional/note" rappers, and here's why: Raekwon and Ghostface have the most vivid, ridiculous word play and storytelling in hip hop. Sure others may go farther to the left, but no one tells a story quite like these two. There's a reason Quentin Tarantino and other filmmakers love the Wu in general, but especially Ghost n Rae: their stories are crazy, their word play is inspired, and they're funny as hell while also seeming to have credibility to their claims.

If I'm going to listen to coke rap, I want to either hear something new or something done so interestingly that it feels new.

G-Unit - G'd Up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2l2FR5uA1A

This is a basic hip hop coke/gangsta track. Trading verses of multi-sylable rhyme play with violent imagery that are interchangeable

Ghostface Killah - Shaky Dog

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf_BsCiJ6Sc

A stick em up tale, something that has been done a billion times. Yet Ghostface's insane imagery separates it from the typical coke rap shit. You not only know what's happening in the story, but get various details that have nothing to do with the robbery/story. Ghost notes the smell of food on the block, how every character looks, their tics and characteristics, what the room looks like, etc. No one does that shit in hip hop better.

This is the difference between Ghost/Rae and Pusha T, who is just a punchline rapper. All he does is remake the same "I'm better/cooler than you" songs over and over, telling us how hard he is. Wake me up when he weaves an interesting story, and manages to do it multiple times over YEARS.

Live From The Underground is pretty good. My one issue are the real simple "repeat title of the track for 4 or 6 bar" hooks Krit often falls back on. Becomes tiring in the 2nd half of the album. Krit's solid, production's solid, and features are solid.

Is it better than Cole World and Radioactive? lol.

But seriously is it better than Return of 4eva?

Better. More banging production, better features, a little less introspection and a little more soul.

I fucking love Money on the Floor so much

Anthony Hamilton is my shit

All this KRIT talk- and I saw him perform earlier today! He killed it, crowd absolutely loved it. Kendrick Lamar came on after him, and the crowd stayed hyped, was awesome.

FFFFUUUCCCKK!! "MY SUB" KNOOOOOOOOOOOCKS. This shit has so much BODY.

Best thing about it: it sounds to be mixed properly.

E: The ending of that track is some of the smoothest shit. I'm mad it cut off.

Anymore info? album art?

Currently listening to Big K.R.I.T.'s "Return of 4eva" remastered. This is his best album.

nope, Dessa dropped that on her fb, in a recent interview p.o.s. said he was like 98% done while also saying his collab ep with Astronautalis was done. I expected Dessa to drop first, but I guess her album will be a nov/dec release.

anyone heard anything on Chico and the Man? I havent been staying up on all this shit lately
