Rocky vs Q here has to be the one of the funniest things here lately. Been awhile since I've seen Gaf-hop seem equally split on both sides.
Real talk, I think Rocky's Wassup is retroactively the best song of last year.
Palace & Brand New Guy. I love that mixtape but the 2nd half is lacking so bad.

disagree, one of my 5 favorites for sure tho
my favorite is definitely either Peso or Bass(the latter just has me on some dangling balcony shit)
Is he honestly that popular outside of the internet? Legit question, because I hear no buzz outside some hip hop heads. Anecdotal, but I never heard one track being played last year during any parties or while chillin getting blowed.
when the goldie video dropped he was all over my facebook personally and he was pretty popular. he has 250k likes to kendricks 257k
he also toured with Drake along with Kendrick... so...
College Dropout is amazing... but MBDTF beats it out by a hair for me.
yo yo.. starting to work om a new caddies and purp for anyone who cares!
All depends if he gets a single.you guys think Kendrick will flop?
you guys think Kendrick will flop?
Pretty much what I'm thinking.Depends on the level of involvement from Dre. If he is determined to make him a star and we see lots of promotion plus a big lead off single I could see him selling big. If Dre half asses it then I'd expect yela numbers.

Only if he doesn't sell out.you guys think Kendrick will flop?
Cole was probably the worst example you could've used. I don't see how you can say a platinum single would contribute to flopping.Only if he doesn't sell out.
He needs another HiiiPower, not a Work Out.
you guys think Kendrick will flop?
Kush and I need a doctor both charted high..SMH @ you guys thinking Dre is going to save Kendrick from flopping. When was the last time Dre produced a song of any significance or had a song chart?
Luckily he's from a huge state which could provide better sales numbers than KRIT, Yela, etc by itself. I'd expect 70-100k. Ultimately his style is probably too left for mainstream, he's not that attractive, and is rather shy. Obviously Cole is about as shy, but Cole had a hit single. I don't see Kendrick making a Work Out even if he could.
i can hear tokus blood pressure risingfuck I'm late but
Palace >>>>> anything from schooldork Q
clams casino is on some black water mystic cave zone shit, man
Kush and I need a doctor both charted high..
Neither were produced by Dre. I Need a Doctor is basically Eminem's song
I thought kendrick was the type not to sell out till i saw that ghost recon shit he was riding for. wasnt even mad, its honestly just funny. But on the real he is making more power moves than any other young cat respected by the underground in the game. Cosigns from west coast og's, features on YMCMB and MMG artists, im surprised he hasnt sidled his way onto something for GOOD music yet.
PD is right, depending on Dre for help is about as effective as asking for the same from Jay
i can hear tokus blood pressure rising
Really? Dre has a pretty strong track record of bringing through new artists, and he produces. I don't see why Dre would've signed Kendrick if he had no intention of working with him pretty closely and the same the other way round. Kendrick could've gone anywhere, so either Aftermath offered a fuck ton more money, or strong support from Dre.PD is right, depending on Dre for help is about as effective as asking for the same from Jay
It's 2012 Maccas, not 1998-2002. Look at the longevity of the average aftermath artist. Who says Kendrick got more from Dre? Whats to say he as a west coast kid didnt get put on with some smooth talk and hero worship and he signed up for the wrong reasons?Really? College Dropout is the best. You guys are fucking nuts.
Wow, what the fuck. I was looking at the Aftermath wiki page and apparently all the members of TDE are now on Aftermath, as well as Black Hippy as a group. It's 2012 Maccas, not 1998-2002. I woulda put Kendrick/Black Hippy on new Beats commercials or something.
As for Dre's successes.... all it takes is a quick look at the former artists on the label to know it doesn't always work out.

I had no idea at all.
Slim Da Mobster is still signed Don't think he has much choice.did you also look at how they havent kept a single artist signed after 2002?
:3
I don't care if Dre makes Kendrick drop an album on the level of The Documentary and then he fades to obscurity like Game.
I'm pretty damn sure Good Kid in a Mad City won't be Documentary-good.
