Are we going to count Money Store in this year's AOTY thread, let's decide now
1 vote from me.

It bends the fuck out of the genre; like nothing I've ever heard and I love it.

I personally think it shouldn't be. I can understand how it can be viewed as rap, but for me it's pretty far from it.

Overall, I'm cool either way.
Depends on if experimental hip-hop should be ousted from the runnings or not.

Who else would be tossed by those guidelines?

This video is great: Double Helix

Filmed with a Toyota Prius bumper cam.

I think whatever people vote for should be included. Let's be honest, it's not going to win AOTY, so there's no harm in including it.

Besides, Wikipedia says it's hip hop

That's a really silly idea.

Well, it seems reasonable. I mean don't put it in the OP text, but nobody's going to vote for The Shins in the hip hop AOTY thread. If enough people consider the album to be hip hop for it to get a significant number of votes, why shouldn't it be eligible?

Nice list... no Black Hippy releases though? Kendrick and crew have slowly been taking over everything I listen to for the last two years.

I feel like I can relate to them more than what I hear on classic albums, especially the older classics.

Speaking of which, does Danny have an album coming out this year?

ASAP and Kendrick should be interesting in back to back months. I wonder who will perform better, sales wise.

I could see Kendrick doing J. Cole numbers and ASAP doing Wiz numbers. I hope Kendrick does even better than that though, he deserves it.

Wiz and J. Cole sold around the same amount lol so it's not like those comparison is a big difference. Wiz probably has maybe a 50-100k more because he came out earlier in the year.

Araab going after that Skrillex money. I can dig.

E: Holy fuck at the beat in that second vid's opening.
Araab will never get that Skrillex money. If he focused himself a bit, dude might be capable of making that Storch money.

tl;dr: I want more actual araab beats getting out there to artists. Especially on the level of the ones he produces for these shows.

I would hope so, but I haven't heard anything.

He's been killing guest appearances this year though.

Ace, you ever do a Ross or Wu mix?

Also, how hard is it to cut parts out of songs? I'm trying to figure out Audacity in order to cut out the talking parts of Rich Boy's Get that Paper track...but I think I'm using the wrong shit.

Ross gets more than enough love in my ignorant mixes.... so I have not seen a need to do one...

I just loop record stuff..

Wish you would is hot!

More proof that ignorant Weezy is best Weezy

Makes sense actually.

Jack Kerouac (by Tiron and Ayomari) has to be one of the best songs of last year, agreed?

the beat would have been so much better without the tambourine sound. i dunno what to replace it with but i hate it so much, i cant stop focusing on that and only that when i listen to that song
