Whiiiiite jeeeesus. I wish was a 100% new album but it's still better than most of the other shit out right now.

Confused though why he left rattleback off the album, such a great song.

I'm going to be optimistic and say Dre has found the guys that will make him put in work again.

You can be optimistic. You would be wrong though. Dre is too busy injecting steroids and eating babies to stay youthful to give a shit about making good music again.

Black Hippy have been floating around Dre for a while now I wouldn't be surprised if they got something concrete for later this year and only signed once they knew they would actually be allowed to put something out.

Man I still can't believe that motherfucker had me refreshing my internet browser like a madman a couple of years back around christmas time, where the fuck is Act 2 or at least the complete version of Dear Moleskine?! Anyway here's something that actually happened, K.R.I.T. dropped a video for Boobie Miles.

Big K.R.I.T. - Boobie Miles

Seriously, that little snippet of Dear Moleskine had me hyped for awhile. Hopefully we'll get to hear the final version one day.

And the more I listen to Boobie Miles the more I like it. I'm still relaxing to 4 Eva N A Day tape daily.

From that article, only Kendrick is signed to Aftermath for his debut, everything else is TDE/Interscope. Which is good since Aftermath is a shitty place for artists, nothing ever gets released.

I was about to come on here and complain about the lack of straight up bangers on the Rittz tape, then Bloody Murder came on. That track is fantastic.

But still, needs more Crazy/High Five/Rattleback ( I know they're on there, but I wanted new bangers! )

I'm really impressed the TDE guys all stuck together. It would've been easy for Kendrick and Schoolboy to get pretty good deals, leaving the other two to try get something else.

I'm not too worried about them getting albums out. Kendrick is too hot right now for Dre not to capatalise on it. Jimmy wouldn't let that slip away.

The way I see it Kendrick doesn't seem stupid, and it seems like he has pretty good management. I'm sure he has clauses in his contract about releasing an album and such.

Now Slim Da Mobster on the other hand... pretty sure he just got caught up in Dre hype.

I try. But damn if you weren't right about that Radioactive shit...

Interscope doesn't sell music, they sell product. Every song is going to be debated by a team of A&Rs.

OT - I watched Menace II Society on blu ray last night and Kendrick looks almost dead on Kane.

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
Slim's mixtape was DOPE...

If you look at Aftermath's track record it's super solid..

As long as Aftermath puts up money for a few crazy mixtapes I'm good.

Kendrick and Schoolboy Q have been on the grind by themselves, Q is 2 albums deep. I doubt they'd let a label slow them down.

Seriously, are we back conspiracy theories now? I rather watch E40 in an all male porn than read any more of that shit.

Did this get posted back in Feb? Big Ghosts top mixtapes/albums/songs of 2011
Surprisingly diverse and the number one was surprising (and one of the few times I completely disagree with him).

gonna go read this now, thanks sid.

I liked the beats on it, but the songs themselves were pretty forgettable. Should probably give it a couple more plays.

I can totally see Kendrick being Dre's new "protege" though, and Slim getting left behind.

I didn't know he liked ASAP Rocky that much. I'm with enzo on this one, I'm still revisiting this tape.

Demons has such a dope beat. Fucking Clams Casino needs to produce for more people.

oh and Bloody Murda on White Jesus Revival fucking bangs.

I can't say ASAP Rocky is ass. It's ignorant rap with little substance, but he's got a good flow and everything just works.

Now Lil B on the other hand.....

Not making me want to stab my ears is probably the only compliment I can give Rocky. I cannot say the same for Lil B...

ASAP Rocky is like a double stack from Wendy's, same old shit you've had a million times before, can be really tasty when you're in the right mood but really isnt that great. And sometimes you poop a lot.

If the TDE/Aftermath deal is strictly distribution I'd be fine. But if this means their A&Rs will be dissecting the music, and especially if Dre is involved heavily executive producing things...we got a problem.

I think Kendrick and Co. have a good handle over where they want their careers to go, but obviously some labels can help. There's no question Roc Nation really helped J Cole for instance; as a fan there were times when I was stressing over them dragging their feet, but in hindsight it makes sense. Whereas a label like Shady fucked up Yelewolf's first album by throwing it out too early; should have waited for the spring or summer and released some type of anthem record.
