Being a man sized man, finding fitteds is a bitch. 8 1/4. :( All the dope custom ones don't go over 8. New Era is slim pickins in stores in that size and ordering online can be sketchy since there so many knock offs.

Anyone know a reputable hat shop online? No knock off BS? Even if I was questionable enough to wear snapbacks, I'd have to snap on the last fucking snap which kinda ruins the look.

You know like once a week, month maybe. We should name like one album that people might consider is a great album or a classic and see who decides on what it is after a few times listening to it.

Just don't be naming clear classics like Illmatic and shit.

Just kind of funny to see people say what's classic or not.

Good idea!
We should definitely all agree on a known classic (be it PE, Rakim, Cube, whatever) and all listen to it on the same day/week and report back with our thoughts.
Reappraising the classics sort of thing.
Could be fun.....

Jeezy concert last night.

Venue: Bogarts, standing room only, easy to smoke, basically perfect venue. On the UC campus. Also, it was sold out, which at Bogarts means you are shoulder to shoulder packed once the main act starts. Cramped, but good energy if it's a good show.

The only act before Jeezy was some local cat with a mohawk I'd never heard of. He kinda sounded like a lame Meek Mill with Tyga beats. Meh, sat at the bar for that.

So after a 1hr+ interlude, the beat to Soul Survivor comes on. Place goes crazy. Jeezy on stage with a 40" gold rope, fucking Run DMC thickness with some outrageous charm. Asian DJ, no hype man, no one else on stage. Just Jeezy. Me, my girl my dude's girl were nearly the only white people there. :p The dude at the parking attended was fucking freaking out before the show. He's all like "what are you guys here for?" uh, the show? "yeah, it's not our usual crowd...." fuckin funny. The parking lots were crazy though. Never seen that many baller cars in one place outside of a car show or the Bengals practice facility.

So the show was crazy. The crowd was his hype man . Hell, he didn't even have to rap half the songs. Did an awesome Biggie tribute by performing Juicy (fucking more epic than you would think, awesome). He went in order of his albums, playing all the bangers. He dropped a verse on NIP. There wasn't a single Jeezy song or feature that I wanted to hear that he didn't play. He even did Amen. It was also a shockingly good light show for a club concert. Every single song "looked" different and Jeezy did a lot of conversating with the crowd between songs. Shit was cray.

5 mic concert. Crazy energy. Good crowd. No idiots, seemed to be mostly hustlers and fat black chicks. Got passed a blunt 3 times by 3 different people, so that was cool. I didn't bring any. Cincinnati police had that whole block shut down after the show. DUI checkpoints at every outlet of that 1 block radius. Luckily I didn't drink much. I was mainly doing the water and percocet thing, so it worked out.

If anyone with even a casual interest in Jeezy lives near a city in one of the remaining dates, go. Buy tickets now, they will sell out. Shit was cray. It's all clubs too. Standing room only. No being tied down to a seat. Pretty sure there are a good 15 dates left on the tour.

Water + percocet?

Percocet is a fuck lot stronger than the codeine in syrup and people drink it without getting "?" Both opiates. Same buzz for the most part.

Yup. And good thing too. HiRes can vouch for this; Cincinnati police hate black people. Also, I'm not black, and the chick I was with and my boy's chick were like half the white people there. Also, sold out concert, idk what the capacity of Bogarts is, but it's a lot of people.

Anyways, I go to a lot of local shows. Anytime we have a show we a predominately black audience (anything at The Ritz, certain acts at Bogarts, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Gucci etc.) the cops totally have the block blocked off with DUI checkpoints at every outlet. They lick their chops waiting those concerts to end. The Ross concert I went to last year I had to sleep in my truck for a couple hours to avoid a DUI. They had every way out blocked off. It's crazy.

So since I was driving I didn't drink. I did smoke some chronic though. Event security will usually kick people out for smoking cigs, but there were so many people smoking cigs, black and milds and blunts they didn't even try. It was kinda funny.

But yeah, catch this tour if you can. Only person on stage is Jeezy. It was much better on a technical level than I expected. There was no back track on any of the songs and no hype man. He's actually a pretty damn good performer. I was about 15' away from stage. It was cool. His little talks with the audience between songs were also awesome. He's down to earth as fuck and you can tell he was really there. Jeezy is Trap Jesus to hustlers in Cincy. Everyone listened like it was a sermon. Good sense of humor too. Punked out event security on the weed smoking thing. So many people blazing they would of had to stop the show and bring in more people. It was great. Took me back to a different time in my life.

One of the best concerts I've ever been too, and he's a LOT better on stage from a technical standpoint than I expected, and I'm a huge Jeezy fan. The presence is nuts. I've seen almost every big rap act I care about live and up close, but Jeezy kinda star struck me the most in a long time for some reason. His energy is crazy.

I'm listening to this amazing ass mix from Sango
More Balloons - Weeknd(Remixed)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NBPIg1JoUs

wow this doesnt totally suck.

i've been skeptical of listening to that More Balloons thing cause i kinda figured they just butchered the tracks like most remixers do.
skimming the project now. its straight i guess.
i tend to latch onto the peaks/valleys in emotion & intensity from The Weeknd's songs. so this isnt completely doing it for me.
but for what it is, its neat.

both tapes that recon and peter posted are awesome. same for that bigge x lanna tape. past few pages have been pretty good shit. normally i don't listen to remix tapes unless someone i trust says they're worth it. and man these last three tapes have exceeded my exceptions by a large margin.

2007:

1. Young Buck - Buck the World
2. Jay Z - American Gangster
3. Prodigy - Return of the Mac
4. UGK - UGK
5. Kanye West - Graduation
6. WC - Guilty by Affiliation
7. Chamillionaire - Ultimate Victory

10. T.I. - T.I. vs TIP

Really horrible year for hip-hop. Pimp C dies and no really outstanding albums released.

Also, ATTN Toku and Shinobi- you guys should enter this production contest:
http://www.2dopeboyz.com/2012/03/10/a-2dope-contest-rashad-x-confidence-the-city-remix-contest/

It wants a boom bap remix of the acapella, and you guys are fucking sick at that kind of beatmaking. Im gonna give it a go too, but you guys are leagues ahead of me when it comes to purely sample based beats. Shit, maybe even use one of the heaters from 2pretty4porno.

Good looking. Idk if we'll enter, we got some shit in the pipeline right now, but I'll let Shinobi know.

its not.

and it's becoming more and more overrated as his releases get sketchier.

This makes no sense. Albums do not become retroactively worse because of recent output. If that was the case, Jay/Kanye/Wu-Tang/Nas's debuts would all be horseshit.

damn, i forgot how many blessings we got in '07. i never did check out that jazzy jeff one either.

He said that? Recon can hand in his Hiphop pass right now.

yup, +1 to this. saying otherwise is...unscientific.

It's probably also one of my favorite album arts to this day.

I'd get a poster of this shit if I can.

good luck, i looked around forever for that one.

gonna go hit up toku's mashup link.

gaf-hop I have a favor to ask of you guys.
A while ago people were posting these hilariously awful album covers made by one company. What was the name of that company?? I must know.

im not saying its gotten worse. im saying that you guys are hyping it up to be better than it is the more that his new output falls off

its a solid 6/10 album.

lol what? U God's solo work probably still shits on Lasers
Edit: Trying to say, Wu tang is infinitely better to stan on than Lupe

Lol, trashing Lasers is lame and tired. The Cool shits on Liquid Swords from any angle. Also, Wu as a collective only has 1 good album(hint, it isnt Forever). Rae and Ghost are the only solo careers worth mentioning. Meth is only worth a damn for a throwaway verse on album and when with Red. Ugod should be nuked from orbit. Not even the best group to come out of the 90's.
