Some other trap shit from last year that went harder than Keef:

Alley Boy's Niggananti and The Gift of Discernment
Zilla's Zilla Shit 2
Wiz Khalifa's Cabin Fever 2
Fat Trel's Nightmare on E Street
DJ Paul's For I Have Sinned
Tree's Sunday School
Waka's Salute or Shoot Me 4
Trouble's 431 Days
Skeme's Alive & Living
Gunplay's Bogota Rich
Gucci Mane's Trap Back
Fat Pimp's Bad as I Wanna Be

so much falseness in this post lmao. and half of those tapes suck dick anyway.

Nah those definitely went "harder." I still probably like Finally Rich way more than those, but to me Chief Keef is some weird mix of chillwave and trap. Like a hood Toro y Moi. But it works for me.

What about BIG KRIT's 41k? :( both are good artists but will never be big. And coincidentally are on 1train.
KRIT was never going to be huge tho, he didn't have the backing of someone like Eminem. Luckily KRIT gets love and people want to work with him though.

Yela is trash

KRIT was poorly promoted but considering he is a producer as well I think he might blow

Radioactive had a great first 5 tracks, and then a meh rest. Animal was pretty dope though. And I thought The Last Song was good.

I agree. So much hate for Yelawolf :/ he's a good rapper when he doesn't put out shit like that Travis Barker stuff.

He outshined KRIT on Hometown Glory remix. I don't have much hope for him anymore though but eh maybe that KRIT collabo mixtape will be good.

I really need to listen to more Yelawolf. I have Daddy's Lambo memorized, but I've never made the effort to peep his other stuff. What are his best tracks?

Trunk Muzik 0-60 is his best release, my favourite tracks by him are probably

Box Chevy Part 3
Pop The Trunk
Good to Go

All from that album/tape.

First of all something something 2 is never a good sign to me

And I know I am in minority on this but Malpractice was my favorite Redman album

Juelz tape is so forgettable. Some of the songs/beats have promise but then Juelz just puts throwaway verses or the corniest lines in his entire career on them or the hooks are beyond trash.

I can feel the promise in some of those tracks but it just doesn't come out. Black Out could've been dope without Wayne. I could imagine a dope pop record being made out of that.

Big Boi ft. Phantogram - CPU performance on Jimmy Kimmel. Not the song I'd imagine him performing. Song is dope though. Big Boi looks just goofy performing it.

Mac Miller settles $10 million lawsuit with Lord Finesse. <- Potential GAF-Hop EP3 topic?

Juelz talks his break from the game, breaks down some tracks on the tape.

A$AP Rocky spits a horrible freestyle over Clique.

Rocky performs Long.Live.A$AP and Wild for the Night on Letterman. dadadadadada. Seriously those two songs are so different the audience must've been like WTF. araabMUZIK on the MPC in the back going HAM though.

It's time for that real rap:

Yung Guru is the fucking man. This man is so intelligent. Here in the first video he discusses piracy's place in hip-hop, intellectual property and piracy's place in creativity and culture, and in the second video he breaks down how they sampled Heart of the City, the process that went into sampling it, briefly discusses IP problems with sampling and remixing that exist in music. Video is beautiful, b. Kinda ties into the Mac Miller thing above.

He gives a nice history on how hip-hop and piracy are intertwined. Definitely think this would be an awesome topic of EP3 of that podcast.
