I thought his last album was solid. Not amazing but not bad at all. But yeah, even as a (former?) big Lupe fan, I have to acknowledge that he's changed. It just doesn't sound like he's having fun rapping anymore. Everything's a conspiracy he has to yell about, he used to be amazingly subtle.

He probably heard GKMC and wants his spot back.

Edit: That said Strange Fruitions was a top 5 song last year for me.

i'm glad. Rockie don't really need to mess w/ Wale, Meek or Stalley.

in other Lupe news, he's performing at the(?) Inauguration. if you recall he said he viewed the president as a terrorist and a devil. AND he promotes not voting. this guy...

Nah. Only GKMC would be superior to FnL or The Cool. Lupe had some prime rap cuts in his day.

FnL2 may even make my top 10. Shit wasn't spectacular but it holds up better than most of these watered down, dial-a-banger albums that have been diluting the genre.

tbh im split on fraud full length vs. PT3. i feel like i should be more hype for PT3 but Cigarette Boats was just magic. i.listened to that more than anything else last year. if it was a full length of that quality i would have said AotY easy

Just came back from seeing Kendrick live. Amazing show. I was surprised by how much of his pre-GKMC stuff he did. And ending with Cartoon & Cereal as the encore was the best part of the night. Well worth missing out on some revision time for my exam tomorrow morning.
