It's time for that real rap:

Yung Guru is the fucking man. This man is so intelligent. Here in the first video he discusses piracy's place in hip-hop, intellectual property and piracy's place in creativity and culture, and in the second video he breaks down how they sampled Heart of the City, the process that went into sampling it, briefly discusses IP problems with sampling and remixing that exist in music. Video is beautiful, b. Kinda ties into the Mac Miller thing above.

He gives a nice history on how hip-hop and piracy are intertwined. Definitely think this would be an awesome topic of EP3 of that podcast.
Will watch, taking IP law next semester, wonder if shit like this will come up.

Art Rap is hella disappointing as it contains absolutely none of the energy and ratchet attitude that made their previous tapes so enjoyable : (

Also Peter you nailed that Keef description, as I loathe Toro Y Moi as well.

I just saw this post, and this is something I mentioned in the past an abundance of times here. Great vid.

There's a difference between sampling and taking the whole damn beat, which is what Mac Miller did. He made money of that beat, selling the tape at his shows. Lord Finesse even gave him permission to use the beat, but not to profit off it. The video also got maaaaad views on youtube, which obviously provided him with money. Its a really sticky situation but you can't really blame Finesse.

So what was Gaf-hop's opinion on that new JT? Know we have a lot of fans here.

Grew on me quite a bit. Really like everything leading up to that fucking Jay verse. Dude is so annoying to me now.

Fuuuck that goldenage mix was great. Probably in my top 5 blackace mixes, shout out to dancehall mix too

Bloody Mac miller lawsuit. The precedent this will set has me worried and everyone else here apparently.

Lool at ASAP rockys letterman performance. Still awkward when he lip synchs that chorus. And wtf at Atrak and araabmuzik randomly in the background. Wild for the night is gonna be huge

Blackace

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
About to be eatin' that ignorant33. Goldenage1 was classic after classic Ace, loved it.

Laughin' to the Bank, you trollin' me sonnnnnnn

Glad someone recognized the troll lol

Can't wait to hear what you think of my "mash up"

Young Guru best mind along with DJ Quik when it comes to talking about the process. Everyone else seems to lack the ability to properly explain their genius.

think i figured out why I hate keef's music so much. In the coli topic talking about how he is getting time said something to the effect of ":pacspit: fukk em, tired of this guy's music, half soulja boy, half waka flocka". Thats it. That's why I cant listen to that shit through. It all makes sense. The autotune. The hook style. The delivery. Thats all souljia boy.
