Holy shit, I was randomly searching for shit and I just found this Max B song he did in a session with Puffy. Some dude I don't know who worked at Bad Boy leaked it a couple weeks ago, but it was unreleased until now.

Max B - Keep Your Head To The Sky

I can't even take it. Max B could've been an unstoppable force. My face is so screwed right now, I want this to be the theme song for my life or some shit. GodDAMN. I'm frowning so hard, this is Miami Vice music.

I say this with complete sincerity, a lot of the shit I say in this thread is exactly that, "shit". Antics to amuse myself, hyperboles, etc. But I fully believe, from the bottom of my heart, Max B is the best writer of hooks EVER. Writing a hook came to him incredibly easy and I don't think I've ever heard one that didn't sound great.

I posted this in the other thread but it's Clams Casino's second mixtape and it's also basically LiveLoveASAP without the vocals... and jesus christ did that album put its weight on the instrumentals. Not that Rocky didn't weave through them like a pro, especially for being a new comer, but these are some of the best instrumentals I've ever heard.

Clams had a bad 2012. LVL is hot, and Freeze too, but Freeze is old. I wonder what his deal is. I know he's a student but I just wonder why he didn't/doesn't take producing seriously. That or there isn't as big a demand for his sound as I think.

i think its a combo of him not being in demand, and him doing regular people shit. i thought he'd blow before Fraud tbh. but he's not as good.

I think being a med student or w/e is good enough of a reason for him not to have all the time in the world to refine his beats or make enough to put out the creamiest of the crop.

EDIT: Lol, #RappersBetterThanChiefKeef is trending.

Meh, he's going for Physical Therapy and he should be done sooner than later. His beat tape from last year proves from 2011 to 2012 he put out a ton of bangers, I only heard one dud on the whole thing.

The only person I can imagine riding his beats and doing them justice is honestly Rocky. Rocky should've capitalized on having his own sound in Clams, but Rocky is very smart for having a handful of different and, at least somewhat, unique sounds and lanes.

Yeah, Rocky diversifying his sound and basically stretching his appeal whilst still maintaining the airy and southern influences from his tape on his album is probably the smartest thing he's done. Pulled it off pretty well too.

when youre an upcoming producer its not like you have much of a choice who to give beats to or who is going to actually check your stuff out or use it

ps check out this gem from the classic albums thread:

Except for the fact that Kanye fucking West is being mentioned in the same breath as Wutang, gravediggaz, onyx, Dj shadow and more. That's just disgusting.

Most classics are going to be taken from the golden era of rap (1993-1996) -i.e. first gen wutang solo, cypress hill black sunday and temples, gravediggaz etc. Now people are posting Kanye?

I love what Jedi Mind Tricks say about him. vinnie paz and Jus Allah have got kanye's number lol.

Lil b made I'm god famous.. For a lot of other rappers it would've been a throwaway. And lil b made it an amazing memorable song.

I said in the thread and ill say it here.

Black Album, American Gangster, Blueprint >>>>>>> Reasonable Doubt.

That album was never the classic people claim it is.

You could make a strong argument for black album or blue print being better than RD but AG is a half-assed remake of Vol.1 which not for nothing is another Jay- Z classic in my mind that people overlook.

Blueprint
Reasonable Doubt
Black Album
Vol.1
AG

Hell you could cut Blueprint 2 into a better album than AG. Does anybody else get Hova vibes when listening to Stevie Crooks like me?
