I actually fucking LOVE this song. I think it should've been on his album.

IMO this shows how good Dipset is. Songs like this and Salute. They are on the cusp of being relevant (Trance/EDM rap, Cloud Rap) but they never "got it" or could get their shit together in a way that would result in a resurgence in career. Just a few amazing songs and a handful of mediocre mixtapes.

If you were to tell me that Jim Jones slaughtered a Clams Casino beat I would have not been able to believe that. He was always the highlight of the track when I used to bump that song in the whip all last year.

When this tape dropped I remember saying here just how embarassed Rocky must have felt. Rocky just sounds awful and trying to hard. Jones comes in and puts his foot in it. He lays out on the couch and puts on netflix.
Rocky was pretty good honestly, his flow, voice, and singing really worked. Lyrically Rocky mostly sucks so it wasn't anything new. It was also a really old song, recorded right after Purple Swag dropped.

Really looking forward to it. Is that going to be the cover for the tape or is it just a fan cover, because it looks cool.

I really enjoyed Summer Knights. Maybe my taste in Hip-Hop isn't refined enough to think it was shit or something?

I made that cover. Glad you like it :). I really enjoy Summer Knights too. Great tape imo.

Idk man, you can always use a spice mix but I think doing by estimation is better. After that, its some citrus, garlic, and some form of real man's chile. Thats up to you.

just dont fake out and buy that pre bottled shit. jerk is from the heart. make your own rub and marinate that shit loooooooong.

Fuck a pre mixed spice. But I do buy BBQ sauces pre bottled. Then again im in the heartland where you can get an amazing one on the side of the road so it is what it is.

Don't just have to be mainland, if you got a decent local farmer's market you can usually find some good shit.

Also producers I need help with an electric bass guitar bass line

Making that west coast beat and got the whistle where I want it but want a bass guitar in so I can drop the kicks and 808s out

Something like Nuthin Like a G Thangs bass line

Best album of the year is Run the Jewels. LongLiveASAP also has some longevity. Nothing else this year has interested me or come close to these. My immediate reaction to Yeezus was way overstated. It's an interesting album that isn't very fun to listen to. I appreciate it though.

Edit - Saab Stories was surprisingly cohesive and competent and saw some of Bronson's best SONGS. Bronson figured out how to structure a song, make a dope hook, and Harry Fraud is willing to work with Bronson to give him more than just a beat, but actually produce the song. Definitely a good little project.

Mac Miller's album has some crazy beats, good features and vibe, and is a starch improvement over his last album but it still leaves a lot on the table. His next project will be even better.

In terms of duo albums, I think Watch the Throne is possibly the worst I've ever heard. I love rap duos. The dynamic of dudes trading verses, in a similar mindset, giving me two perspectives and two styles. It keeps the album fresh while feeling cohesive.

Watch the Throne was shitty because Ye and Jay were on two different wavelengths completely.

Ghost & Rae, Mobb Deep, Clipse, Meth & Red, Madvillain (tho thats mostly prod), MOP, Cam & Vado, even the duo of Q and ASAP... all of have chemistry.

Jay and Ye have no chemistry. None.
