When I was on my cruise last week, one of the internal TV channels in our stateroom, that had info about the ship and stuff, has the I Am God instrumental playing over it. I thought it was weird, wonder if the cruise line actually asked to use it or if some young punk in charge of the ships broadcast just threw it on there.

Retro video for a somewhat retro sounding song. Kim makes him feel like he did before his momma died, maybe that suggests some weird Freudian mental issue, but I get it. The video is cheesy and overtly surreal, because that's how he feels about Kim. The low quality aesthetics are also suggest a bit of humility and the deep seeded modest man that Kanye becomes when he has a real love in his life. Lo-Fi videos are also pretty hip and counter-culture right now.

I get that its retro Kanye and he's trying to go back to his goofier persona from that era, but lacks the charm and humor of how he was back then. It just looks like he once again is seeking validation using Kim. As for Kim making him feel like he was before his moms died in some freudian analogue, that is creepy, but I don't think it holds up. If you've watched anything Kardashian related she's just about the farthest thing from a mother role model or ideal there is.

Kanye never used Kim as validation tool, Kim pretty much represented regret and everything wrong with him like 2 years ago, hence the themes on MBDTF.
