I believe Kam and Toku like him too. Honestly, it's the way Lupe flows over songs that kills it for me most of the time. Curren$y typically has production that you can just easily ignore him.

I am the number one Cham hater. I've heard his mixtape shit, it's still awful. He has some mainstream songs that would rank really high up on my wackest shit ever list. Weird Al etherd him on his own shit. Dude makes Kidz Bop tier rap joints. Vanilla Ice goes harder than dude. Bruises might mame him.

Honestly, what bugs me the most, is the flood of lupe haters after Lasers. It was like they were just waiting for something to justify their dislike for him, and Lasers gave them plenty of ammo. And then Lupe went off the deep end with that hair cut and those glasses....it still hurts my soul.

I get not liking someone. I am not saying Lupe is objectively great and should not be disliked. Just, at some point not too long ago, he was considered pretty dope by a lot of people, critics and fans alike.

Slaughterhouse is the DVDA of rap. It sounds like it might work and be a good idea but at the end of the day you're just cramming everything in there at the same time, no one has any room to breathe, and the only one who likes it is Recon.

I don't hate Lupe, I think his first two albums are pretty good. What really holds him back is a lack of a sense of humor and of self-awareness/self-reflection. I meant every word about Cham though. Fuck the hip-hop police. I'm a poor black man that listens to N.W.A., I never have fucked with the police.

Cham bores the shit out of me, personally, but if you want a clean rapper, it's pretty much him and Will Smith. And the Fresh Prince is pretty old by now.

Slaughterhouse is a joke told by an idiot rapped over faux metal beats for dipshits who are into "saving" hip-hop.

Lupe used to be great before he bought his own hype, took fashion advice from Whoopi and starting straight beat jacking classics like this is some shit to do. Lupe can still bring it, but he needs some 'no' men in his camp. We ruined him by calling him the savior of rap and shit. We didn't know he'd take that shit seriously.

Bad Bitch was the closest Lupe came to having a sense of humor, but he made that song with 100% seriousness. Okay maybe not the closest song, but that is the most recent in my head.

Lupe's last mixtape had some humor to it. Hell, just look at some of the names to his tracks.

"Joaquin Pheonix" was pretty lighthearted. Probably one of my favorite tracks of his from the last few years.

1999 was pretty damn good. It fell apart a bit after the first half though, IMO. Maybe not fell apart, but got a little boring.

I am really surprised at how much his glasses and haircut are mentioned, in the entire first page of the last Lupe thread that was all people mentioned. I could care less about those, unless it's just playin around.

I didn't think 1999 was on another level.... but it was decent. It is certainly one of the better projects that aim for 90s rap without feeling old. Joey Badass has a nice flow, but lyrically gotta step it up. Solid mixtape though.
