Definitely not bad, not close. But it's ye's weakest album for sure.

idk, i never looked into it but i guess a lot of these street rappers find the conscious more artsy dudes to be strange. and a lot of them kinda are. like. even if you like Kanye, he's a fuckin weird guy.

It brings up an interesting thought: if they battled would Drake win by default in the new generation's mind? He is clearly That Dude right now, whereas Jay is the old regime. Is Ezno right that a couple Drake lines about Hov being old or ugly would be enough to impress young fans, thus ensuring a consensus on social media?
Lyrically Jay would win to me, but I do wonder what Hov can say to him. I like the Ms. Drizzy but how far can Jay go with that. Remember when Jay started wearing sandals and doing other questionable things, in the minds of street dudes? How does Jay take their side of the argument to now attack Drake for being soft, different, not hood, etc. I can already imagine Drake saying something like "the only powder you touch now is Avon/ugly ass nica your gangsta is spray-on."

There are always souljia girls that would give Drake the win, and of course the legion of Jay haters in the world. But Hov can easily demolish him if he feels like. Drizzy has already said verbatim that he will cry a pool of tears when Jay dies. That's already an L right there. You can't defeat a person whose dick you rode and you idolize to get to the top, especially if they have more stacks and receipts than you do. He already called him "Unkie Hov" in an MTV documentary. Get Guru/Ye to loop it over some soul, and cook. Jay's biggest pitfall here is to avoid being called bitter, which he can if he manages to get Cole, Kanye, or Kendrick on his side in any sort of open way. Fact is, Drake wants to be Jay, always has. He's a stan.
Or he could just put any of this up Summer Jam screen 2.0 at Made in America, and it's over. Make a montage of Drake's life from degrassi star to rapper, mocking.

They make a good point, I mean nowadays rap and hip hop is way more mainstream and accessible than back in the day when "beefs" were all the rage. Drake has a solid fanbase made up of mostly people who aren't heavy into hip hop (soulja girls and actual girls). If this does pick up then surely his fanbase will ride for him no matter what the details of the disses are.
Jay is past his prime I think we can all agree, I'm sure he could spit some cool diss lines if it really got started, but I could also see him falling back and saying he doesn't respond to people lesser than him (game, 50 a couple years back). Jay has a fanbase that imo doesn't compare to drakes. Don't get me wrong jay has fans, but drake has the demographic that are more likely to support no matter how booty the music becomes and will support with their wallets, whereas jay fans will tell him to fuck himself if he drops more magna carta holy garbage.
In the end I think the mainstream impression will be drake winning, his fans will blog and post shit everywhere whereas jays fans wouldn't to that degree.
It's not like we're gonna get some decent battle tracks anyways, just corny lines and lame subliminals like jay and drake do.
As for prodigy and havoc, I'm sure there's still some butthurt over that summerjam screen. And jays success has to have them salty still.

People are quick to defend it but a lot of s2 is awful and unbearable. It comes back up in the last stretch (last five or so episodes) but most of it a slog. They got really entrenched in the soap shit.
I'm a big fan of Norma too. We like a lot of the same type of women PD and that shit scares me.
