Also, the bolded. Camp dates itself. BTI at least has the benefit of being sonically progressive, compared to his previous work. Culdesac and his I Am Just a Rapper tapes are still far more replay-able.

My problem with Tomb Raider was that it felt like it followed the Uncharted template too strictly. The best parts of the game were finding those tombs and solving the puzzles in them, albeit being extremely, braindead easy. Other than that, there was an excessive amount of setpieces that emulated Uncharted. Then there's stuff like the fucking stupid story and the worthless upgrade system that made the game forgettable.

Finding the tombs was probably the best part about the game. The next game should be 7 hours of finding tombs and shit.

They could have a good thing going with the gunplay, exploration and tombs. Instead they focused too much on being a multiplat Uncharted.

I agree, except I don't like the I Am A Rapper tape personally. Some here would argue Camp is equivalent to eating ass in the worst way possible.

As for TR, I had a good time with the level layout and finding collectables portion of it, as well as the tombs and bow use. Less focus on action, uncharted biting and story next time would be appreciated.

I got to the end and stopped playing, it lost me.

Well Uncharted 3 wasn't that good so that isn't saying much IMO.

TR has better combat than Uncharted, but it's still a bleh experience. There's fun to be had, but the characters and inconsistent themes are annoying + the "puzzles" are insultingly easy. Plus there are more explosions, bad handholds, and collapsing structures than you can shake 5 blockbusters at. The "cinematic set piece" stuff gets plain stupid at various points. I'm just happy it popped up for free on PS+ instead of me waiting for a price drop on the PS4 version.

But y'know, they have the base to make a great game so I hope they actually do that next time.

Believe it or not, Uncharted's puzzles need some kind of effort compared to Tomb Raider's. The only puzzle I remember taking me more than 5 minutes was the one where you have to drag the raft in electrified water.

Uncharted 3 had better puzzles than TR, and the character writing in any of the games is pretty entertaining to me *shrug*

And even if you find UC annoying, Tomb Raider is a whole different level of annoying. Lara and her incessant screaming and unearned, unnatural "good girl gets tough" transformation, and the goofy villains... It's "so bad it's bad" territory. And even if you remove ALL of that, the set pieces are so needlessly over the top relative to what the game is trying to be that Nathan Drake is rolling over in his grave.

I just wanna raid tombs and kill animals, breh.

Drake is an equal opportunity killer. As long as you're guarding or attempting to steal the same thing he is, you'll catch a bullet and a quip.

But yeah, a lot of those people happen to be of the non-white variety.....Iz a lil weird
