Godzilla was indeed better than Pacific Rim, but there are still quite a few issues. Felt like it could have been great. PR on repeat viewings exposes the flaws so badly. Holy shit that middle section, the writing and Hunnam's boring ass.

Feel like every "big star" lately has been dull. Kitsch didn't pan out, Hammer is done already, etc. We'll see how Pratt does with Guardians.

despite all that elevator tomfoolery and the goofy swimming pictures and the boring recent albums...you get one look at beyonce in that video they just made and you can't help but say...jay z won.

still those sean penn scenes sound weird. don't 'act' opposite a god dude.

Nah, see, that robot behavior and creepy ass smile she had plastered across her face was too much. That's some Stepford wives shit. I mean, he isn't paying her 50k in child support a month or whatever, so there is that.

hunnam's so whitebread. dude won't make it big in movies. he makes that tron guy look like robert deniro.
Put him in the right blockbuster or a western where hes relatively shirtless or find him the right comic book role and he'll make decent bread

If fucking jeremy renner can eat off movies, anyone can

There is a reason those shitty Expendable movies are still entertaining. We have no decent action stars and very few decent action movies that aren't super hero dramas too. Sometimes, people just want to see shit exploderate on a big screen

Meh. Its all good, even if movies suck cock now TV is getting pretty good despite it slowly dying too. I guess at some point well just be watching Youtube or Googleflix and the only formats that people will care about are the time you spend watching something.

Or maybe we'll rise up against our oppressors as automation drives unemployment to 60%. Who knows.

Expendables are garbage movies. The old dudes lost it.

The Raid movies and Dredd were great action movies.

Dredd was awesome, but as long as they do any future movies the right way, literally any dude can be under the helmet.

Plus, still a super hero flick

You know what people really oversold? Skyfall. That shit was B-/C+ status. Casino Royale just had more charm and personality.

Ah, if that's the case, you're correct. I loved how they didn't show his face though, so that was great.

I think movies are still great tbh. So much good stuff released yearly.

Also, Wavy Spice/Princess Nokia is hot along with making dope music.

it did, but i thought most of the joy of Skyfall was that the franchise didn't die like it looked to do at that time.

i dug it but it could've been some really landmark shit for the series if they wrote the villain a bit better. villains aren't usually the highlight of bond flicks but that one could've really been interesting with a bit've work.

It has no fucking camp, man. It's campless. What is a Bond movie without camp and fun? Garbage. Just like the second movie. Luckily this one had the god Bardem in it and some nice scenery or itd also be another Recycle Bin candidate. Plus the whole premise of the movie was goofy. He clearly could have just blown up MI6 and killed her and peaced. Instead its a needlessly complicated, nonsensical revenge. I liked how it all ended in a very small arena though.

I liked Skyfall, but I don't like Bond movies, so that's probably why. I know a lot of purists hate the movie for reasons, but I liked it. B is about right

Well, Bond did step off a Komodo Dragon in Skyfall. Movie was just aight though. Casino Royale was borderline perfect for me though.

ehh i get why they're on Bourne's dick and staying away from camp at the moment though, I mean Brosnan wasn't a bad bond but holy shit the last few turds he was in put me off the franchise so hard...i think Die Another Day is literally the only bond flick i didn't finish.

but yeah, Skyfall was needlessly complicated but with the new flicks its definitely Casino >>>> Sky >> Quantum.

I actually would say I largely prefer Bourne by a hair because of those action sequences. Lowkey my favorite spy anything stays Mission Impossible though. You know whats a real shame? That xXx didnt get developed into a real franchise. I guess Vin has to settle for saving action movies with just the one series.

Quantum of Solace is a horrible movie. Ive tried to watch it 5 times now, alone and with people and I fall unconscious every time. Its the film equivalent of the Jermaine Cole discography.

I really dug the bourne flicks - fights weren't bad, car chases were top notch, good production values across the board.

you know which one was neat in the late 90s or so that no one talks about & i dont know how it holds up? The Saint with Val Kilmer. the OST is dope too.

aw, he hadn't fallen the fuck off at that point just yet, it was at least a few years before kiss kiss bang bang (also a fun flick)

i thought Goldeneye was a legit good bond flick, Tomorrow never dies was falling off but Michelle Yeoh is awesome. honestly though every one i saw after goldeneye felt like it was just getting worse and worse.

Hey man no skin off my back. I love all action movies equally, except Rocky.

Tomorrow Never Dies is great and Goldeneye is a CLASSIC. 90s babies know whats up.

Godzilla is not better than Pacific Rim, c'mon.
Godzilla is basically 110 minutes of boring characters doing uninteresting shit and 10 minutes of boring Godzilla action with TWO (exactly two) good scenes. At least Pacific Rim had like 40 minutes worth of great action, which is the selling point of these types of movies.

As for the character driven parts, I feel PR wins on that front too. Yeah, the characters were stereotypes, caricatures basically, but given the context of what Del Toro set out to do (a hommage to old school mecha anime) it makes complete sense, at least they were fun. The Godzilla characters aren't even stereotypes, they're basically empty shells whose actions make no sense or have no importance to the movie, and who don't make you feel a single thing.
I mean, I love Pacific Rim (it's impossible not to love it taking my anime background into account), but even if you didn't like it, I can't imagine Godzilla being a better movie to you, no way.
The
sword
scene in PR is better than the entirety of Godzilla.

Pacific Rim was ass tier besides the imagery and Charlie who hams it up so well.

The Raid is so much better it's not even fair, and the plot of the first Raid is so similar that it kind of defeats the point of the new Dredd even existing
