Randomly heard Flying Lotus' "Never catch me" with K.Dot and I love it. I am a huge fusion and free form jazz fan, so this is right up my alley. Any suggestions of similar musicians or tracks, I love this collaboration.

Been feeling the same. Might just go full time over to the 'otherside' and coli. I rarely play vidya so the Video Game Bored is probably enough for me.

I don't know about beats "selling" or whatever, sounds like a silly concept, but he has a pretty distinctive sound that immediately pulls you back a decade, even when he puts some modern twists on those joints. It's pretty evident when all of his frequent and most successful collaborators also try to evoke that in their styles and generally even base their careers off of that.

Sometimes crack attracts dust heads. He wouldn't be the first or last sample-heavy producer to suffer the consequences of having [perceived] limited range.

Well the beat and the hook is fire, name dropping game I could do without. Game really sounds like he has a really scrunched up angry face when he recorded this. His voice sounds so different on it. Bad even.

Pretty much this. I don't frequent GAF like I used to. The only threads I check on are a handful of subscriptions. The only one I post regularly in is this one, and y'all know that that isn't even that much.

The OT is embarrassingly left-wing to the point of badgering others in arguments. When I first started browsing GAF I was enticed by the level of discussion and argument and I don't know what happened but it's become very left wing. I guess it doesn't matter which end of the spectrum either really, it's more the fact that's it's at an extreme, to the point where discussions are constantly derailed or unable to be started.
Couple that with the inconsistency in moderation (in regards to which topics are allowed to be "joked" in with first posts etc. and which ones aren't) and you have the current state of GAF OT today.
Unfortunately it has even started to creep into the gaming side.
We should've seen the writing on the wall when the Blackace thing happened.
I still love GAF-Hop though. And parts of gaming side. And if I'm being honest I don't have anything against Evilore either.

Just my two cents.
i'm about a dollar what the fuck is fifty cent lol

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough; my point wasn't that it has become left wing but rather that it is on an extreme part of the spectrum. To be clear, if it were completely right wing it would be just as bad.

My main point is that discussions are usually stifled because dissenting opinions are often shut down not because they're inflammatory but because it goes against the crowd. (and yes, of course I realize that often times there are idiots that are being purposefully inflammatory or trolling but you should know what I mean)


edit: it was more meant to be a commentary about the actual level of discussion and how it has fallen.

Basically. There's hardly any actual discussion to be had on this website which is why I'm just fucking around most of the time
