1. That one had a cringeworthy hook.
2. The beat was fucking awful. The drums, the piano, the effects. All completely amateur.

He uptakes influences from so many sources and melds into his own distinct product. But to completely isolate yourself from every piece of music that's innovating right now just so you're not "influenced" and let fucking Dre work at the lab and maybe pop in for a freestyle or two?

I gave it a closer listen, and yeah, it's not good. My feelings have been more or less covered (a poorly chopped sample he shouldn't be rapping over, lack of melody or a decent hook, awkward, sloppy transitions, etc) but overall I just find it grating. The chorus gets old fast.
Even divorced from the expectations I have for him and the build up to the release of this track, it's just bad.
Oh well. It's disappointing but I'm not about to get all chicken little about it. Whatever.
