Fuck that shit. No excuse to be an asshole towards Nardwuar. It sucks too cause it alters my opinion on the artists. i.e. Cudi, members of Blur, Jay
On the flipside, the people who admire the research Nardwuar has put into the interviews or Nardwuar himself are always awesome. i.e. Pharrell (GOAT), K.R.I.T., Weird Al, ?uestlove

Guys like Jay and Nas weren't assholes towards Nardwuar at all. They were just weirded out by him.
BTW Nardwuar randomly whipped out a random thing of him and Jaz on Jay and he never responds well to that. That beef is never getting dispelled ever.

The funniest thing about the Hov interview is that you can tell Questlove fucked up when telling him about how Nardwuar is. I can just imagine Quest saying "yo, this cac is super diligent, he knows about all the samples and all the shit you've done in the past, he's gonna be trying to surprise you. You're gonna love it, Shawn." So Hov went in there like it was a business interview, assuming Nardwuar was some super serious dude from NPR. And then when Hov realizes the dude is really pretty corny he refuses to play along lol.

One I just saw recently that was really funny was RA the Rugged Man. I think it's kinda old at this point, but I randomly stumbled on it a few weeks ago.

all time favorite Nardwuar interview. What I love about them in general is how they reflect the artist's relationship w/ music; listening to Quest losing himself for 45+ minutes just talking about old Philly records was one of the most endearing things to watch as a fan.
It's not that you can't be an asshole in those interviews -the Henry Rollins ones are classics- it's the complete lack of respect for the man's grind that sets apart the WOATs and tells me which artists to not fuck with (Pusha comes to mind).
Agree w/ PD on the Jay interview. Dudes were gassing Nardwuar up to him and he went in there with a certain gameplan that got torched the second the interview started, and I don't think Jay really knew how to handle that.
Edit: nother thing, you'll notice virtually all of the southern artist's interviews are among his best
