Seriously though, musical tastes can be hugely wide, and Des and the like know this. Writing off other people's opinions wholesale to me is silly, especially when one likes music they don't.

That's why I like to not only find a common ground and ignore differences in tastes, and for the most part, just be indifferent to music as much as you can.

I wasn't trying to be mean or attack your personality or intelligence just stating that we're polar opposites and that I generally find your taste to be revolting. Has nothing to do with any real animosity.

Seriously? I think we disagree with a lot of things, but you don't like Kendrick Lamar? How about Death Grips? Schoolboy Q? Earl? Vince Staples? Nas? Wu Tang? Young Jeezy? Future (IMO who has the best flow right now)? Cannibal Ox? MF Doom? A$AP Mob? Outkast? EL-P? Mos Def? I can think of tons more.

It's a challenge, but I damn well know that I can get down with anybody on music, though obviously taste will be more compatible. But a lot of the cloudy Trap influenced stuff I've seen you post has caught my ears as well. Keep in mind that I'm still exploring music, and acquiring taste overnight will not happen. I can definitely think other people's taste is terrible too, but that's because you can focus on the bad apples or the good apples. I know a guy who I really enjoy talking to due to how much we like a certain band, even though I think most of the stuff he listens to is terrible (he thinks Creed is better than Pearl Jam, nuff said)


I've posted before thanking you for introducing me to guys like Billy Woods, but you seem to miss that.

As for Metal, my taste in metal is from Sabbath to today. Opeth is like the tip of the iceberg. Trust me when I say no Metal band is too heavy, too raw, too esoteric, and too niche for me to tackle. I'm not humble when I say I can grapple with anything in Metal.

Ahhh, lol, didn't know he was part of those. Though I only know them from their signature tag/ad-lib, that Hustle & Flow soundtrack and Stay Fly - oh, and the one sampling a techno track or something (which one is it?). So, he's been around for a long time, it seems. Did he have kinda like a solo breakthrough/comeback in the last 3 years or so? Because I wasn't really aware of him until that track featuring Drake and Future in '13 or so and then he seemed to be the go-to feature guy.

Freddie Gibbs Reportedly Extradited To Austria Following Rape Allegations


Back in June, it was reported that Freddie Gibbs had appealed European authorities’ attempt to extradite him to Austria after he was arrested in Toulouse, France after an alleged incident of rape that was said to have occurred in Austria in 2015. Well according to reports online, including the source @ Orf.at, the appeal didn’t work out too well for the Gary, Indiana rapper because he’s been reportedly locked up behind bars in Austria since last Sunday, July 31.

Orf.at reports that the French Supreme Court has confirmed that Gibbs was indeed extradited to Austria last week and is currently sitting behind bars at the Josefstadt, Vienna prison. Gibbs’ may not necessarily be charged with anything by European authorities, but he’ll definitely be questioned about the 2015 allegations.

No word yet when he'll be a free man, but we’ll continue to keep you posted as more details are available.

Why are you trying to be an online tough guy? It's 2016. Frank Ocean and Thugger are showing that your entire aggressive wave is outdated. Just be you and enjoy music. And if another man disagrees that's fine, bless up. Hug and move on.

Is there any other hip-hop artist that still puts out as much music as Kool Keith? He's been around since the mid 80's with Ultramagnetic MC's and released over 20 albums.

Not to target any one in this thread, but some of the worst music fans are those who are exclusionary towards others based on very limited perception of what they like. I've met a few people who deliberately make it a priority to undermine how much I love Jazz, based on the fact that I also love Thrash Metal and some of Drake's stuff. Bullshit right there.

Do you hear a lot of your fellow metal fans belittle you because you like Rap? Anecdotal, but most of my metalhead friends back in highschool were super narrow-minded and elitist when it came to music, lol. Meanwhile I was listening to Progressive Metal, Dusty Ass Boombap, corny Emocore, and obscure JRPG soundtracks on the same day. Never got why you would limit yourself.

Am one, can confirm. I'm more hostile towards people OUTSIDE of Metal, though. I can tolerate differing opinions within the Metal community, though if you are going to try to call my experience with the genre into question, I will bite back, and harshly. Like I said, there's no Metal genre out there I can't tackle, and my experience with the genre proves it.

Nah, most Metal fans don't give a shit about rap, honestly. I'm also an asshole about Metal, so I'm not innocent in this regard. I know more about it that the average Metal fan. But I don't limit myself, too bad some others think otherwise and just assume I won't like this because I like this.
