I don't know if many of you listen to a lot of stuff outside of hip-hop, but I'm giving a strong recommendation to this new Nicolas Jaar album, Sirens. It's a beautiful piece of electronic music that works pretty well as a companion piece to his Nymphs trilogy/quartet and "Pomegranates." Check it out.

Also, if I had to listen some underrated/not talked about albums from this year, what would they be? They don't necessarily have to be hip-hop either, just no metal.

What are you into that's still too vague

Well, I'm mostly into electronic and hip-hop. I haven't listened to much in hip-hop barring the big major releases. I honestly listen to a little bit of everything, except metal. I think my last.fm might be a bit more helpful in explaining what I listen to.Discern from it what you will.

Last 3 months I have been into Frank Ocean, The Avalanches, ScHoolboy Q, Clams Casino, Danny Brown, Gorillaz, Sebastian, Death Grips, Travi$ Scott, Swans, David Bowie, Squarepusher, The Golden Filter, Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein, Nao, Oneohtrix Point Never, clipping., Vince Staples, M.I.A. and Radiohead.

Preoccupations'(formerly Viet Cong) new album

Right...

If that were the case, I would stop listening to Eminem based on the backlash you get just by saying you like his music.

Torre, are you into any Jazz or Classical?
Jazz, kind of, Classical, not really. I'm a very infrequent Jazz listener, the last couple albums that were jazz I listened too were BBNG's "IV", Rudresh Mahanthappa's "Bird Calls", and a collaboration between the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, Kim Myhr, and Jenny Hval. Open to recommendations though.

Already checked out that one, but have only listened to it once. I liked it though.

Maybe just give me the real underground shit, things you think nobody has listened to or that no one else may like. It's really annoying how Last.fm won't let you filter albums by release year, so I can't really tell you what I have or haven't listened to.

A little late, but the Noname album that people have been repping is really damn good. I always love it when a female MC releases material.

On another note....listening to her album makes me want to listen to Katamari Damacy's soundtrack for some reason.

Yeah, it's really smooth. Was on heavy rotation months ago.

Didn't realize she was on Chance's album at first. I will have to go back and listen to that song.

Now...how the hell did I go from Katamari to listening to Dracula's Castle over and over again?
That reminds me of how there are albums that I instantly associate with certain games because I listened to them while playing. Like The Root's Game Theory and Dragon Quest VIII, ASD's Wer hätte das gedacht? (my favorite German Rap album - with beats from Dilla, Wajeed, and Diamond D on it, btw) and Zelda: Wind Waker, or Stankonia and Zelda: Four Swords Adventures.

I have to admit I've never been one to make personal connections between rap and gaming. I usually do so with metal and Classical.

He's probably going to do ANOTHER make up show for them. If it's at Webster again, I'm set because I'm about 10 minutes walking distance from it. You can bet your ass I'll fucking break the land speed record if he pulls that shit again. I missed the first GOOD showcase, I'm not missing the second.
