Very interesting. Also, if you get the chance, read The Redneck Manifesto.
Here's a somewhat personalized recommendation list of stuff that came out this year that you should probably peep:I am so out of rap albums this year. I have a good number of blogs and sites I visit for my other musical predilections but I can't find a really good site to keep up to date on my rap/hip-hop releases. If an album came out by an artist I follow then sure I know it but otherwise it's hard for me to discover new artists.
I just copped the new clipping. album and I think the last rap album before that I grabbed was Chance but was really disappointed in it because it had a ton of singing and the style of rap that I just really don't like from artists I don't care for. Found a lot of albums coming out by people I enjoy have let me down lately like Kanye, Bronson, Chance. Too much singing, too much of that laid back style that's a lot of repetition with little wordplay or flow. Just not a style I enjoy.
I'm having difficulty finding stuff similar to artists I enjoy like clipping., Joey Badass, Bishop Nehru, Blackalicious/Gift of Gab, El-P, Killer Mike, BLKHRTS, this is just random stuff I'm throwing out here. And I don't have a good place to follow to keep up to date with stuff like that.

No American Muscle?
Sounds like he was struggling with the beat, tbh.

I'm a huge Clipse fan, but Pusha solo stuff somehow never really worked for me much.yup, it's a pusha song
yup, it's a pusha song
Finally listened to Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight now that it's on Spotify.
Basura. Travis needs to revisit Rodeo and master what worked with that project (a lot did IMO).
Our Top 10 lists in this thread are a very good way to find good albums. Especially HiResDes' lists.

Mouth full of donutsNever heard a single thing by him.

Also, I remember one of you mentioned "No Now" by Clarence Clarity and I felt its my duty to alert you (I think it was Psych?) that he has a new EP out now.
Will check out the Aesop Rock stuff, Andrew.
Seriously, it feels like his career is now going to be divided as pre-Numbers on the Board and post-Numbers on the Board.i know its kinda corny for me to even comment and im not even that into pusha or anything but im honestly always impressed that he picks out really innovative beats and does his thing on them
I love how rappers go up to The Breakfast Club trying to punk Charlamagne as he just sits there and talks to them straight up in his calm voice lmao. What is that, like the 3rd time this year? Low key MVP of hip-hop
It's cause he knows he is in a safe environment. Although he looked like he was going to cry if you look at his face yesterday real talk lol.

I was just about to say that I saw a tiny bit of fear in his face at some parts even though he tried to be cool, lol, especially when Beanie talked about having had murder charges or something. I don't know much about Beanie, is he about that life? I thought at one part it sounded like he was breaking character and a laugh slipped out when he threatened Charlamagne. It's cause he knows he is in a safe environment. Wait, are we talking about "Y'All Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack" Viper? THAT Viper?Holy shit, this Viper album is fucking awesome.

Also, "Labor Days" is like a 7/10 for me. I like the way it sounds sonically, but I feel like a lot of the album lies in Rock's lyricism and I am most decidedly not a lyrics dude, at least if the lyrics aren't offensively bad / childish. I guess because of that, it's not as captivating for me as I believe it should, but it reminds me of a lot of MMG stuff in a good way. I like Open Mike Eagle and milo, so I can see why I'm okay with Aesop Rock.
Got meOn another note, Koozek, I sometimes realize that....isn't it like 5 AM in Germany? It's 7:51 PM here in Arizona.
Time zones are weird.
Got meWell, I'm a night-owl and I'm doing a light late-night study session.
