Repetitive Dilla wannabe, to me. He hasn't evolved as a producer over the last...7 or 8 years.
this has to be one of the worst fucking posts ever

a lot of dead hip hop artists are overrated, biggie, pac, pun, big l, eminem, guru, eydea...
Yes, Dilla did make a few weak beats after meeting Madlib.
J Dilla is good, it's too bad people can't just leave it at that though.
Pretty much, I love Dilla, but man he suffers a lot from the Cobain effect.
He had the best drums and chops in hip hop. Don't take my word for it - ask Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, or Kanye.
They one day just came out in said this? I bet it was a response to an interview question every time. Of course they would say that.
So what are your initial scores on this Kanye album?
Pete Rock and Dre said it while he was alive. It's not like they jumped on the bandwagon after his death.
9/10. I think there are 2 not so great tracks but I need better listens. So what are your initial scores on this Kanye album?

The specific thread for it jumped like 20 pages tho.Not too many pages for a Kanye release.

I think I like the OG wolves better, but that nori/wolves punchline was dope. Also Frank>Vic, on any level really.
yeah but he should have used frank throughout the track rather than close him out. and sia really added the mood to wolves. pour one out for the real wolves.
and also for us missing this album this weekend. unless he releases digitally tomorrow.
i feel like this release is gonna be a mess lol
what if...he didn't even clear the samples hence the live stream and no release lmao
For those who listened to the stream: is Can You Be on it?
And what about features
Freestyle 4 is so damn good. Reminded me of '06 on Vince Staples' album.
I liked the offbrand Future he had on Father Stretch My Hands as well. Name is Desiigner apparently.
He had the real future on it too
Where? Other than the tag.
Disappointed about no Aubrey, but Thug? Nice.Nope. Thugger, Chance, Rihanna, Abel, Frank O, Swizz, TY$ (Prob missing a few)

Supposedly thugger will be on SNL with ye doing lights- so there might be a full version.he doesn't really get a verse on it. just some padding work on the chorus.
gotta say though 'fml'. holy crap, got that on repeat. need to know the sample on the outro. it's up there as one of his best songs ever. last ye song i liked this much was...hold my liquor.
You should track down his othertone guest spot on beats1. He was cool and dropped a Kanye mix. That Chance verse was great too. I've been seriously disillusioned by all of his work since Acid Rap but he couldn't have came better or fit better than on Ultra Light Beams.

hold my liquor is too short ={
lol it's like 5m30s, and 4 minutes of that is instrumental
Not that I'd object an extended version of Hold My Liquor, the g.o.a.t. Kanye track
WATTBA has grown on me so much these last few days.
I've actually been listening to it a lot this past month and I have to agree.
Scholarships is so fucking good.
