GAF, how much do you make?

32 years old. $753/month, $9,036/year.

Being disabled sucks.

Draw Social Security based on my dad's stuff, since I was disabled before becoming an adult (Disabled Adult Child), and his SS draw was really small due to being forced to retire early due to injuries suffered in the military. My mother just retired so I'm in the process of filing a claim to switch it over to be based off hers as she made much more than he ever did and I think it said $1392/month on the sheet of stuff for me.

On the plus side - I have 0 debt to my name and since I can rarely ever go outside I've learned to live pretty frugally!
 
23 years old, $75,000 is my salary. Web Developer.

I have as much debt as they'd give me, though, so I'm still paycheck-to-paycheck, even paying only $600 for rent.
 
Right now I make about 46k (EUR) a year, but I'll actually be cutting that by about 10k starting January to move to Ireland and start working at a job I'm more passionate about. Besides, living expenses are significantly cheaper there so I think it'll be alright.

What are you doing now and what is that job you'll be pursuing in Ireland ? :)
 
29 years old. I make about 32k. Unfortunately it's salaried and I work an average of 50 hours or so a week this year in order to make that. I'm with a smaller company I'm hoping makes it big. If it does I could see a really large bump in that salary. Suck though because with my current skill set I should be making 40-50k.

Right now I actually just work the night shift at a hotel reception, with some additional pay from being in charge of our servers. In Ireland i'll be doing ICT consultantsy, which is my actual field.
 
I made a little over $100k (salary and private contracting, not counting investment earnings or discretionary bonuses) last year and the year before. Like $115k I think, I'd have to double check. USD, inexpensive market. Prior to that I was averaging around $90k/yr for about three years I guess. If I just count my salary from my day job and guaranteed bonuses I barely clear $100k.
 
I'm 29yo, make 115k AUD base and get a quarterly incentive based on performance. Been in the insurance call centre field for 3 1/2 years,starting back as a sales consultant and worked my way up after being made redundant as a graphic designer and struggling to find work. Funny how life happens.

Love what I do.

25, Student. I don't make anything.
I get some money from my parents wich is enough to make ends meet. I don't even want to say how much it is.
 
$60k, 31yrs old. I work with data warehousing and reporting systems for hospitals.

I have often thought about getting a higher paying IT job and I see a lot of high salaries in this thread. My job lets me work from home and no one bothers me so it is pretty stress free. Plus I can come and go throughout the day as long as I get my work done. That's been holding me back since I am not sure if a bump in salary will come with a job that doesn't offer the same non monetary perks.
 
30 year old research scientist, 6 figures.

All to support 3 kids and a stay at home wife. Which actually saves money because day care costs are crazy (high COL area).

Haha yeah man. I haven't paid tax in 11 years now it's pretty cool. On salary or investment income so it's pretty good. The healthcare and expat packages in general are pretty good.

I get school fees paid for 3 children up until the age of 18 but I'm not married and have no kids so no way I can cash that in.
 
63K base plus 36k bonus potential. I end up around 80-85k. 34 years old.

I left a similar job with a larger company that earned me closer to 120k after bonus, but the stress and work/life balance was not worth the extra money.

MUCH happier now
 
Bit of an enormous drop after the last couple of posts, £32k salaried at 25. .NET Developer. Could be getting more for my experience by now but I love the place I work. 35 hour working weeks and 36 days holiday a year! (not including bank holidays)
 
$48K a year. Hospital Operations Coordinator, New Jersey. $1100 rent with no utilities in that, so it's hard. The struggle.

Taking it a step further. STEM + few years work experience (not academia) + decent MBA program = $125k base salary in finance, consulting, operations or marketing roles. Ramps up quickly from there (especially in finance).

I knew I was ballin' for my salary in Florida. The equivalent salary of $107k in Orlando for Manhattan would be a little over $240k.

My cousin is a Finance Director making $190k in Orlando, which is equivalent to $422k for Manhattan, $322k for Brooklyn.

New York is too damn expensive.

Well GAF isn't exactly the most dependable source of wage statistics for making decisions like that. Before choosing your major, you should look at your national labor statistics for reported median income and job growth numbers for whatever careers you are interested in. That's a way more dependable source of income statistics than whatever is being reported here.

Yup. My brother-in-law double majored in economics/applied math, then went on to get his MBA and is now making bank.

This is why they call New Mexico the land of entrapment. You can live pretty comfortably here with a modest income that would be damn near poverty level in more metropolitan areas.

Kind of the dilemma me and my wife are in now. We'd like to move, but the cost of living is going to be the same or higher anywhere we go, which means more modest means of living at the same income level.

Our disability system needs serious support and overhaul. That's really sad. My mom recently became disabled and she makes like below the poverty line. It's sad because they can't work to help their situation.
 
24. Almost a year out of college, Job for 7 months. I make about 24k a year. I'm on straight commission though so it fluctuates. I need a new job.

maintaining systems that are building the body of cars at a german car manufacturer.
 
Around $42k at 36. It's awful but the price I pay for working at a family company and having complete schedule flexibility which is vital with a toddler.

My wife on the other hand makes $65k at 35 but has no flexibility in her scheduling at all.

It's a good balance but I would like to make another $12-$15k per year.
