Sorry about the loss of your cat, that really sucks. I only get to see my dog once or twice each year these days... he's about 14 now. Every time I am home I hope that it isn't the last time I see that guy. Your cat looked really interesting too, you cropped his ears or that's how that breed comes?
An ear infection he got a few weeks after we got him from the shelter messed them up.

I haven't. Been doing other stuff partially because I don't really like shooting the stuff that's in my area.
Cat died a few hours ago. Last shots I got of him.
He had such a luxuriant looking coat, always enjoyed seeing pictures of your cat in here. Sorry for your loss.

I think I've shared this here before, but I recently got 2nd place overall for this piece at my university's juried art exhibition this year and i'm still beyond shocked about it. I can't wait until I'm free to start working on more stuff!

Dafuq did you buy for that? Helicopter landing smoke grenade?

Hey !

We bought some football cheer smoke signals, they are sold in Europe (maybe in US too?!) they last around 50 seconds and they can be handheld. There are other ways though, you can search for SOS signals for boats (at boat shops), those last around 5 minutes, but you cannot hold them in your hand because they get really hot, im just not sure how legal it is to use those.

Heres a picture of the thing :

That's an effect I would love to do...just not in a studio.

I'm extremely new to photography, I was forced into it because I started a small apparel business 'Battle District Sply Co.' Now I absolutely LOVE photography and absorbing everything photography related.

These pictures of my good friend and I during my 30th Birthday in Puerto Rico dubbed 'Thirty 30 Vision'.

How long have you been shooting. Best tutorial I can recommend is to just shoot and pay attention to your composition. Take multiple shots of the same thing and change the angle at which you shoot it to see how much the perspective change effects the overall composition.

...one last question and more pictures. Should I invest in a Flickr account? I see that's what's most of you all are using and does the free account offer direct links?

Ignore pro. It's there for like extra stats and shit. I think most of us use the free account, and I've never been even tempted for a pro account.

1st love your photos especially the photo of the city; I like the lines. I do watch anime, currently watching 'Full Metal Alchemist'. I bought my Sony A6000 Oct 2015, only started using it Feb this year; ifrst time was in Brazil for Carnival even the I didn't pull it out becaus I was better using my iPhone. Now I know it's true power I want to unleash it.

Thanks, I just held my camera in portrait mode, thought it looked a lot cooler that way. Yeah, you're just getting started. I can critique the shit out of some of my earliest pics...it's not fun. You have Lightroom or any sort of picture editing software? The first step is to take a good pic, the second step is to tweak it to make it even better in post. Third step is learning what the line is between classy and overdoing it in post. That's where a good youtube video comes in and just experimenting. One of my photograph coworkers always says, just go out and shoot. Oh yeah always be open minded about the whole thing. Oddly enough shooting different things helps.

Lightroom on the Surface Pro, Enlight on the iPhones
The classy vs. overdoing it line is something I consider when editing. I personally like gritty & grainy photos and often time that can be overdone.

And what's the new toy?

Dove into the garden once more with my Zeiss 135mm. So so good....

I think the more you do it you'll have a better idea of what that line is. Earlier I used to go hog wild with the clarity tab. I've recently learned how to reign that shit in a bit more.

Youtube is absolutely loaded with tutorials for any and all types of photography. I found Mike Browne's youtube channel to be incredibly useful starting out.

I take it you've been shooting in Automatic all this time? NYC is fun, you must hit up Central Park.

The 24-105 is such a versatile lens. If I ever go out and can only take one lens, that's the one I'll go for on full frame.

Excellent lens indeed. Used it for a very long time and was very happy with it. Price quality wise there is hardly a better lens available, especially if you find it for a good price second hand.
