Had a day and a half in Vancouver. First day rained, second day was awesome! It seems like a cool city from the little I saw of it.

Also be warned the last two pics aren't NSFW I don't think but they may be gross to some people, I don't know why "gross" stuff intrigues me. They aren't the most exciting pics, but I want to share them so I can get feedback if anyone else enjoys taking photos of the more disgusting things in life, and can tell me better ways to make the photos of that shit more interesting.

Warning poo and garbage (smaller size to hopefully bother less people) Hope someone can help me to think of ways to make these ugly things more beautiful:

You need a ND filter so the sky is not blown out as in the first pic

I like the blown out sky in that shot, I think it works in this instance. Could work well as a b&w too.
Filters are useful if you want to go down that road, but I've found the cheap ones to put a horrible colour cast across the image which is difficult to recover from in post. Cheap ones basically show you the potential of filters, if you get the pro ones you will be looking at £100\$100 per filter.

Didn't get out tonight unfortunately however one from last night, taken just a few minutes walk from my front door.

Thanks man, and yeah I actually had a cheap set of filters I bought long ago (uv, nd, something else...?) that was stupid because I was putting cheap shit glass
In front of an expensive lens and it just wasn't good. Shooting in China most of the time too with basically no sky I've really grown to like the washed out look, but to each his own.

Nice shot btw 👍🏽, beautiful place.

Love this shot! Looks like a water color painting to me.

Just shoot and train your eye. I shot some stuff briefly on my way from a museum to the train station and still managed to get some good shots.
went to Cali recently, not having used my camera in a while. I noticed I was really bad (compared to my norm) when it came to taking shot, which is a shame cause there is so much great potential down in Monterrey. Need to go out more and do some reading

I usually try to at least shoot once a week. Granted even when I'm not I just find myself just looking around at stuff. Usually "that would've been a good shot" leaves my mouth at some point.

What does an ND filter do? I also take it, there's lots of different filters out there for different uses.

ND filter blocks out light so that you can lower your exposure outside of ISO/Aperture/Shutter speed. That way you can get daylight exposures at slower shutter speeds/wider apertures.

That looks like a very good place to be for most of the year! Where is it?

Just put my Skye gallery online. I've posted some of them in here previously but I've edited them all again (just got the dell xps 4k laptop, makes me want to edit everything again!!) and I've also got a few I never bothered with previously.

Got a roll of colour film developed yesterday. Came out blank because I didn't load it correctly L O L. Bought three more rolls of B&W T-max, hopefully I'll get it right this time.

Just a tiny little isolated part of Alaska. The photography opportunities up in this place are second to none. There's a strong aurora predicted for tonight, and I'm hoping it clears so I can get decent shots of it.

Oh wow, one of my top ten locations I'd love to go to. Good luck for tonight, be sure to post if you get anything!

Back in Shanghai after what felt like forever. Weather was awesome and my friend came to town so we had to head down to The Bund, even though I've seen it a million times this skyline still is amazing.

Was able to upload some more to Flickr, so I'll add them now:

It's not easy taking pictures of something half the size of a fucking baseball.

This thread has slowed down a lot in recent days? No one is out shooting?

Here's a few from Shanghai Qibao, one of the "ancient towns" in Shanghai's suburbs.

Covering for this idiot I work with while he's on vacation has sucked away a lot of my shoot and editing time. Good shots.
