This country is beautiful. Anybody in Stuttgart and/or can recommend something awesome to do/see here?
I went to college there, so if you have any specific questions, I
might be able to help.
Sadly, Stuttgart is probably the least interesting of the big German cities.
My favorite place was the Eugensplatz, where you get a good view of the city. Also the Killesberg park, there's a fun lookout tower there.
If you're staying in Stuttgart for longer, definitely take the train to Lindau at the shore of the Bodensee, Germany's biggest lake. It's a slow 2.5 train ride through the Schwäbische Alb mountains, with a lot of nice views. If you can spend a weekend at the Bodensee, it's one of the most beautiful parts of Germany, IMO. Lindau, Konstanz and Überlingen in particular.
I'd also advise a stop in my hometown, Ravensburg. It's along the way to Lindau, and a beautiful example of a small-to-mid size German town. It has a lot of medieval walls, towers and castles, really one of the things the US doesn't offer. It's absolutely beautiful, and you can see most of the old town in an hour or two.
Anyways, welcome!
Edit: The Stadtbibliothek (public library) in Stuttgart as linked above it pretty cool, yeah. Go to the roof, too.
