hab soeben das erste mal ge'TAet, Teachers Assistedt. Machte Spass hahahaha, boah kann ich nicht einmal die Ausbildung von anderen ernst nehmen. Ich hab halt Faxen gemacht..

Da war ein paar Deutsche da die sich als was weiss ich bedient haben.. Hilfe oder was ähnliches. Was ich weiss ist dass sie mich wegen meinem süddeutschen Akzent lustig gemacht haben!

Sie ham mich allerdings zum Tagreise zu ner ganz schönen Stadt in der Nähe eingeladen, ich meine ich werds mal machen! warum net?

Also, how common is it for companies to sponsor visas in Germany? Are most willing to do it? Is higher than a bachelors degree needed for most business jobs?

Best district of Stuttgart, according to most people I know.

I'm still happy I finally made it out of Stuttgart. I had almost forgotten what nice weather was like.

Sichern isn't used to mean lock like to lock a door right? I was playing playing Vanquish and the one guy said, "Sichern und Laden" which should just mean "lock and load" in english but I was curious if it's used to mean lock in other circumstances since I've never heard it before.

You're right, literally it means "to secure". But with a weapon, it's sichern/entsichern (unlock).

Heh, the weather here is so unpredictable. I was in Garmisch last week. Beautiful area.

Can someone explain to me the differences between grocery stores? I see Lidl, Aldi, Rewe. Which is more expensive than the other? Do certain stores have certain things others don't?

Rewe is your standard grocery store, carrying all the big brands and offering a big variety. It's a bit more expensive. Although they have their JA! line of low price goods. EDEKA is a comparable store. The best thing about Rewe is that they're usually open til midnight.

Lidl and Aldi are discount stores. Limited variety (usually only one version of each product), few brands and often only big packs. Prices are pretty low, probably the lowest you'll be able to find. The quality is actually okay, at least at Aldi, which is the preferred discount store for most people I know.

Aldi and Penny are comparable like discount stores. don't be surprised to see like a random pair of shoes and a bike light for sale next to cheap portuguese wine and other crap.

Edeka is pretty much the standard grocery store afaik, next to Kauuuufland (hier bin ich richtig!)

a lot of supermarkets are very regional.
so while you might find a kaufland in every village in the sauerland, in other regions they might be non existent.

REWE and Edeka are probably the most likely to be available all over the place.

Awesome, thanks. I popped into Rewe and Lidl before. Stark contrast in the way things were set up. I also definitely checked out Rewe sometime around 11 PM once. Nice to know there's something open that late.

Yo, why you gotta hate "discounters"? :p
Oftentimes their products are made by the same big brand manufacturers (the ones with brand recognition) you find in REWE/Edeka, etc. - but cheaper/under a different brand name. And they're by no means crap.
What sucks about them is that they sometimes engage in shitty employment tactics (like secret employee surveillance in case of Lidl).

To me the best of both worlds is Plus (Netto), because they generally have cheap/good produce + big brands/discount brands. But I barely buy any processed food.

yo, I just listenend to your track and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Sometimes the beat is a bit off, on other parts it fits quite well. and that beat is dope!
sound quality could be better though, that might be because of your youtube sources

i'd give it a 7/10

Nicht schlecht, bin selber auch fleißiger Rap/Hip Hop Hörer(natürlich beschränke ich mich nicht nur auf dieses Genre) und bin immer an anderen Empfehlungen interessiert, kann sonst bei Nachfrage auch meine Lieblingslieder dann zeigen.

ich hab überhaupt nix dagegen. In der Tat als ich erst in Deutschland gekommen war, ich war unter dem Eindruck, dass "Penny" die einzige Art von Lebensmittelgeschäft war. Es war nun mal so in Deutschland, dachte ich, sie kaufen nicht so viel ein wie die Amis.. Dann ein Paar später bin ich am Kaufland vorbeigelaufen. Da war wie eine Erleucthung. Es hätte sich leichter finden lassen, wenn das Kaufland nicht UNTERGRUND war.

For computer stuff with a comfirmation dialog box, is OK used? Is it usually OK and Abbrechen or is there another setup ususally used for yes or confirm? I've seen just ja and nein but I think only ok with abbrechen?

OK and Abbrechen according to MS Styleguide, iirc. You can find it somewhere online these days. It's a good pointer for software terms in general.

Eventough I never lived in Germany, I used to watch RTL2 a decade ago via satellite. Awesome times, I loved all the anime on there. One Piece, Detektiv Conan, Ranma, Shin Chan etc.

Hast nen guten Geschmack, Edgar Wasser und Amewu sind sehr sehr gut. Das Album von Amewu ist auch richtig klasse, Schwarze Sonnen ist der Wahnsinn.

boaah is Edgar Wasser erfrischend. Der ist richtig krass, ich dachte Morlockk Dilemma und Hiob waren die einzigen guten Deutschrappers. Darfste auch net Sido or wen auch immer nennen..

Since the meet up talk died down some time ago: I've now moved to HH and am a lot closer to a few of the locations mentioned. So I'd be in for another try.

Do you guys think its realistic to learn decent German speaking by studying from December to June? I have books and materials that I've been using to learn the language. Grammar and writing is not a priority, just decent speaking skills.

Anyone here live in Dettingen, Horb am Neckar? Used to live there way back, most beautiful place on Earth!!!

I think you should be able to get to an understandable level in 6 months.

Sure, why not? What's your native language? English or other indo-germanic languages are definitely helpful in getting a quicker access.

Don't see why not. It all depends on how much effort you put in though. I think you can learn a good amount to get yourself around if you want to.
