Mine has already been shipped

850/1900 uber alles

Who's the company that are shipping it? I've got a random e-mail from DPD telling me they're wanting me to sign for a package tomorrow. It could be something I'd ordered from Amazon but it's not likely. Handtec haven't e-mailed me.

EDIT: It's from Handtec. It's shipped! Woo-hoo! My network doesn't have the troublesome band issue but I'll be testing nevertheless. I'm quite glad I got shipped before they put the orders on hold!

they let you release them if you want it to which i did, but i got no email today :(

If anyone is wondering, seems like handtec employees are working late because they are still sending out shipping notifications. This could be just the false hope some of us need to get through the day!

you'd think there would be some kind of automated process for this... they seem like a decent size shop that would have a shipping system. And like i said, i have an 11:45 plane to catch tomorrow. Overnight from Fedex usually arrives to me at 10-1030. Thats pushing it for a quick ride to the airport. Wife would kill me

You still gonna risk it Stateside? Is the warranty international? I presume it is. Worst comes to the worst and my handset is faulty I'll get in touch with Samsung UK.

i doubt there will be any issues as we don't use 900mhz in the US. If there is a big issue it would be a recall and would deal with Samsung directly... but handtec also handles the warranty if i needed to, i just have to ship it to them. By risking it, if i want to return it and get a new one if there is a fix i need to pay the shipping both ways

My one wasn't dispatched by Handtec, and I'm on vodafone. Tempted to just email them right now to cancel my order since I've basically already paid £500 and have no idea when I'll actually have a working phone, or when Samsung actually bother to acknowledge and address the problem.

haha, i've consistently left my house 45 minutes before take off to get to the airport and in on time (i live 10 minutes away). It being Thanksgiving, which is a horrendous time to travel, is the only thing that gives me pause.

At this point you might as well wait.

Hell I might skip the nexus to see what CES has to offer.

I think I'll wait just to hear exactly what the proposed solution is for the volume bug. But I sure as hell am not waiting for CES.

I'm very ready to retire the old N1, just need confirmation that the volume bug is getting some sort of a fix before I buy.

Now, if there ends up being a hardware recall and new hardware isn't sent back to vendors until next year, then yeah I guess I'll check out CES.

I give myself a couple more weeks before I Handtec this bitch.

WTF at AMEX not dealing with GBP. Since when? I'll have to put USAA insurance on this phone then instead of just saying fuck it and using my AMEX's free extended warranty. Got dammit.

Regardless, that seems to be Korea-exclusive. At this rate, you might as well wait for the GS III

Lets be honest, the S3 wont be stateside till almost 2013 more than likely, even though itll hit the EU in the Spring. Would be nice though if they just said "fuck it" and shipped the S3 worldwide anyway and got the schedules back on track.

Bboy what's this usaa insurance? (I have usaa, what insurance is it?)
Home owner's insurance will cover your phone. I hear it's cheap and no deductible, either. Give 'em a ring. Let me know how it goes.

At least, that's what I hear. I've never used it since I usually do AMEX warranties as I'm careful with my phones.

I thought I've heard it before, way cheaper then phone company insurance. I'll call them after I get it

Gcubed I'm really interested in your impressions as a fellow N1 user making the jump. Will you be able to post some impressions from wherever you are flying?

If it comes tomorrow. Still in the initiated stage from fedex. I'll be in Chicago at my sister in laws new place. She has no TV, internet, etc, so I'll have plenty of time to play around. I fully anticipate a revelation but again as pctx said, not going to be hard to beat the N1 at this point. First thing I'm going to do is open Google maps and rotate the map with two fingers.

as is your expectations that this phone will be better than the N1. *sheesh*

IDK. The notification light (and how well is implemented) on this phone makes it a worthy successor to the N1. I'm so used to it by now that I don't think I can buy a phone that does not have it.

We just got confirmation from Samsung that the Galaxy Nexus will launch on Verizon in December instead. Still no word on pricing or an exact release date.
