Game Boy Micro <3 Thread

I had one but it got stolen years ago. I want to get another but the prices are too high. I should have jumped on one when Walmart still had them in stores for cheap a couple yrs ago.

Why would you want to abuse such a beautiful object by dangling it with keys which will scratch it to hell?

Agreed. It comes with a wonderful carrying pouch anyways.

Also, if you guys have flip video cameras from years back, their cases are great for the micro. That is what I use for two of mine.

I just bought a used Black one on eBay that's supposed to come with three games (Looked like Rhythm Tengoku, Super Robot Wars J, and Final Fantasy IV) along with a Play Yan Micro.

It was a hundred dollars for all of it.

IS THIS GOOD/BAD/WHATVER?

Edit: Especially since I wanted Rhythm Tengoku too?

Depending on condition that is pretty good. I don't know what play-yans go for these days but they're quite scarce.

I found a couple that are like $160. They're the 20th anniversary one. Or a silver one for $80. I kinda want the famicom looking one though. >_>

Silver is boring in my opinion. It is one of the few colors I don't own. Splurge and go for the famicom one. The ArcadeShock had it for $99 and I frequently see them on eBay for around $70-80 used.

Be patient, get what you really want!

Even the US ones are selling for $140+. At least ones that will ship overseas. How often does ArcadeShock get them in?

Hmm so it seems Nintendo Australia has the following faceplate colours available:
Light blue
Purple
Silver
Red

So I ordered 2 red for $9.95 AUD each plus $9.95 AUD shipping to NZ...
But then he said the red might actually be red with silver, he couldn't say, lol.

I will probably mod one anyway to an image I like, if I can find my crafty side again :P

If anyone is still looking for a Micro, ArcadeShock has a 1 Black unit available again:

Link here

I believe they will cancel it if you already ordered one, as it's 1 per customer.

Ordered me a second hand silver one off ebay along with final fight after finding out my neogeo x order wont come till after christmas. I always wanted one... the sexy Famicom one was a little out of my price range :(

So,

I've got both a black and a silver micro. One cool aspect of having both is that I sometimes make one all black and one all silver. Kinda neat.

A little off topic but can we discuss gaming hardware dedicated to playing emulators? There's a Chinese handheld that was recently released that is built on hardware from reverse engineering the original GBA so you can play GBA games 1:1 since its basically the exact hardware.

My silver one came in from ArcadeShock today. Wow, that guy knows how to pack things. It arrived in a large priority mail box stuffed with peanuts. Inside was another box that seems taped professionally. I opened that and there was the GBM box in pristine condition with more peanuts around it.

Nice to see the care that went into shipping this to me.

Sounds awesome! ArcadeShock has to ship mine internationally as I'm in Europe, but I think something is wrong. The USPS tracking number is still saying "Electronic Shipment Info Received".. I don't know if it's a fault with USPS or AS somehow didn't actually ship mine out. I'm gonna wait a couple of days before I contact them.

I have to think USPS as they can be slow to update stuff. I recently had something delivered by Fedex SmartPost which is FedEx delivering to a post office for local delivery. It said shipping information received and never got updated until the package was delivered that night. So it had the wrong info for about 3-4 days.

Oh, okay. Good to know. Never dealt with USPS before, haha. Thanks!

American?:

Yep,

That is the difference. Imprint (sexy!) on the J-unit, the traditional serial sticker on the NA.

Good lord that is such a beast of a system.

I just bought one of the Famicom Micros and an EZFlash IV... now my Pokemon Center Micro can sleep in its mint condition state.

Saw this thread bumped.

Saw that this weird site has brand-new and sealed Famicom Micros for $149.99. They were apparently mis-priced for $99 last week, so I debate with myself.

But then I see that they're packed well, and it should arrive in minty condition.

Son of a bitch! That's $160 I wasn't expecting to spend right now :-/ Damn you, Gaf.

It was $70 new with 2gb stick. I am sure it was somewhat overpriced but in the end it saves me money on games.

Hmm okay that is a bit much. I'd only be getting it for the convenience of being able to play games I already own without having to carry them all around. Not planning to pirate :/

Got my Micro in today from ArcadeShock. It looks great, Ive been playing Super Mario World on it and it's so much more comfortable then I expected it to be. I'm glad I found this thread at the right time.

Can anyone suggest some Japanese games I can import to play on this?

The only one I would attempt is Rhythm Tengoku. You can usually find eBay auctions with the original box for about $40. It is easy enough to follow along with if you don't know any Japanese. It is hard as heck though.

It's not hard if you've got the flow!

Also I got my micro today, it's fun. And since I got a copy of Rhythm Tengoku with mine I've been getting the medals that the person who owned it previously did not.

JUST FOUR MORE TO GO

Then I'll end up driving myself crazy over the Perfects.

And as stated before it included the PlayYan micro (Which apparently needs a 1GB or less SD Card to use, and I can't find any non-2GB and up around right now) and Super Robot Wars J and Final Fantasy IV (Japanese Version) which I'll probably never be able to play properly since they're text heavy and in Japanese. And the charger's European (I guess) with a US adapter. The faceplate has little Rhythm Tengoku stickers on it too. It came from New York.

This is confusing.
