Part of the reason things have become as bad as they are is that reasonable people have been asked to tolerate the intolerable for years now. It took this garish celebration of political violence to finally shake people out of it. That's a good thing and I hope to see more of it.

It does, but it's concentrated on those sites - hence my initial comment ie. what you see is what you get. My wording in that comment is about the opinions that hold sway and the "brain dead" part is that some very extreme and mean-spirited opinions are thoughtlessly parroted and upvoted. Basically, those sites are safe spaces for that kind behavior.

I also would like to place value in gaming media as I once did, but the trust is lost and the pattern of treating gamers like the 'enemy' has been consistent for certain outlets for over a decade. I wish it were different as I used to enjoy reading reviews and opinion pieces from various sites, but that's been long lost. Mind you, YT and fellow Gaffers are my go-tos now and I'm good with that.
 
I really hope Sony (and other studios) take a good hard look at what's going on here. There are too many "employees" who are so emotionally unstable and incapable of having conversations and critically think for themselves. Whether GoY sells well or not, I'm sure Sony would rather avoid this cluterfuck situation they're currently in where it's difficult to post anything on social media. This has turned into a marketing nightmare for them.

Blame those mentally ill and evil devs, not the players who are calling them out. The studios would be better off WITHOUT people who think of their colleagues and more than half of the country who buy their games as "nazis", "fascists", and every other bullshit word being thrown around irresponsibly. This cancer in the gaming industry needs to stop.

Unfortunately its not only the US that suffers from this ... many country's including mine this things are happening... US just feels more fleshed out, but at least their democracy is still going and they just elected a conservative president.... my country is ruled by an extreme leftist ex-con and his ex-con minions and we have a crazy leftist dictator running our supreme court like its own separate country so things are really ugly for "democracy" overhere. Any moment now they are going to regulate free speech on social media and then things will be gone for good..

US still maintains its democracy .. so theres always hope for improvement . Theres lots of worse places around to live.

Well, it is the one country out of the entire world that promotes freedom of speech and democracy like it's one gigantic free for all.

So what you get is wacky people taking that and upping the stakes 10-fold thinking they can do whatever they want and hope it slides or they dont get caught.

My point was only in relation to some in this thread claiming that event was right wing violence. ANY murder of an innocent human being is horrible and should be condemned. There's a baseline of human decency that should underline any person's ideology, regardless of political affiliation.

Most of the western world is infected with woke mind virus. Central-Eastern Europe countries are (mostly) free from it and some Asian countries. I'm talking about developed world.

In this part of Europe we are quite conservative and we know how life was under communism (you also know what happened in East Germany). Of course young people that didn't experience communism of fucked up economy of the 90s are more prone to that ideology (mostly women of course).

The things people say are beyond disgusting but I can't really cheer for them losing their job. Cancel culture is wrong and I can't help but finding it a bit hypocritical and double standard that a lot of people are celebrating this now after being so loud when Biden's gouvernement did it.
These people cheering for the murder of Kirk showed their true colours and it will always be online for people to see and to haunt them. That seems, to me, like a great punishment they inflicted on themselves.
I can understand if people have important jobs like school teachers or something like that tho. But a game developer? Not really.

To add for Asia, the wokeism isn't really a thing. The only few who do follow this ideology are the upper middle class Gen-Z who are active is social media. The rest aren't too bothered and are rather focused on their families and their jobs (I live in a collectivist society).

scores and awards by woke acces media means jack shit for any high profile game ...and has been this way for years...its only fanboy fodder for forum gloating and nothing more...

And the only sales comparison it matters is against the previous game and maybe other sony sequels.

Lets see if fanboys will be honest with this game or will pretend the game achieved sales expectations even if sell half the numbers of the first game like they did with The last of us 2.

this might be the straw that breaks the camels back for me, i think i might genuinely be done with games.

like besides GTA6 i'm not giving any of these people my money anymore.

I'd rather go waste them on Pro V1s which i'll lose on the first drive
