"LEVEL 5 TO PSP

Dragon Quest VIII, Dark Cloud, and True Fantasy Live Online (cancelled) developer Level 5 (in conjunction with Sony) has declared it is working on an RPG for the PlayStation Portable. The question remains whether this new game is the one hinted at on the studio's website, which has been advertised for over a year now. Sony has used the name Dark Cloud 3 on some promotional materials, but the game has yet to officially surface. This PSP adventure is being touted as 'new"'and 'original'."

GTA on PSP? Who didn't see this coming?

Honestly now.

But how the hell will it work with the streaming tech? Unless they make it the most intensive 2D GTA experience ever.

One of the Rockstar's PSP games in development(*not GTA*) uses a lot of streaming.

Regarding GTA. Ain't developers not allowed to do heavy streaming games on the psp due to the disc drive eating a lot of power? If so, I expect the game to have much smaller levels or reduced graphics.

Whoah...a Dark Cloud on PSP would ruin my life. Bad enough we're getting a Gran Turismo.

Yeah, so... is GTA:PSP going to have 5 minutes of battery life?

Well UMD movies are constantly streeming and still get like 4-5h battery life (according to Sony). I can see like 2 hours with a GTA (more processor intensive than a video) on one charge.

Seriously the only thing that was said was he was asked about DS and PSP, then said both sound good, but they wouldn't be able to make a game on DS in all likelyhood. This issue has been out 2 weeks also. This is a bogus story ..

Heh, the RPG Level 5 developes for PSP was CONFIRMED to be a new IP. The GTA however is true, they bought that "Max Payne team" (Mobius Entertainment/Rockstar Leeds) for the new handheld developing.

looks heck of a look like the FFXII promo poster with the view angle looking up - looking quite groovy too - never played a dark cloud.. hopefully this will be my first.

As for a portable GTA? Cool and inevitable I guess. Wonder if it'll be a port.

Sorry folks but that was made way before FF12 stuff surfaced.

"Ah so Sony is releasing a FFXII ripoff for the PSP, good to know"

pic is very old, plus if you have played DC2, you should know that FF and DC have nothing in common (the art might look similar but who gives a shit about art?)

He is right.

I can't wait to play new Level 5 RPG on PSP, but I don't want it to be Dark Cloud 3. Keep Dark Cloud on the consoles.

But you are right about Dark Cloud playing nothing like Final Fantasy.

Heh, that was a joke based on someone dragging out an ancient poster. Of course it's not going to be like FFXII. I played Dark Chronicle (your DC2) and loved it, playing DQ8 now and it's amazing. The joke was about the pic being fucking old, the pic being a FFXII poster ripoff AND the PSP game = that pic being pure speculation. :)
