Rumor: GTA IV and Max Payne 3 Remasters Likely in Development

I finished the game with that modpack about 2 months ago, from start to finish, including a lot of side content. I have no idea what you're talking about. Nothing was broken, and the LOD handling was exactly what you'd expect from a game designed to run off a spinning disc. Is there pop-in when you're going at full speed? Absolutely. But calling it broken is disingenuous.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Just a few minutes ago you were saying you need to spend HOURS to make the game run. Come on now.

To the ignore list, dont have time to read stupid things

These were fixed in Fusion Fix last year

Just tested it, it actually improves a lot the LOD issues but there are still problems, when turning around the camera many buildings dissapear and reappear, its quite jarring. I prefer the developers fixing this well but I appreciate the effort those modders made too

indeed. it was one of the best looking gen7 games and they really perfected the euphoria animation system here (and then took 20 steps backwards with RDR2)
Expand on that.

I thought it was worse for some things, better for others.

Like the hit reactions and making enemy dance with multiple bullets was better in mp3 but rdr2 has more prolonged death animations that make every kill more unpredictable because enemies kinda roam around a bit sometimes or fall down in a funnier way compared to mp3 that was more dry\realistic.

I haven't played mp3 in a while but i don't remember you could see scenes like this:
(These are terrible examples i found in 30 sec, but i remember mp3 enemies dying almost instanctly without their body trying to do an extra step or putting an hand in the hit zone

I know it can look more silly than realistic sometimes but i think it add to the visual variety of every kill that not every enemy immediately die.

Again, i can't remember mp3 euphoria but i remember being more dry and less exagerated (still godly of course), i could be wrong.

I know there are mods that completely restore the euphoria on rdr2 but i never tried them.

I'm mainly talking about the playable characters here.

Max Payne 3 had fully dynamic animations, while retaining very responsive controls. the animations try their best to react to your inputs, and are simply a layer on top of a relatively responsive collision box essentially.

in RDR2, your inputs seem like mere suggestions given to an animation AI that reacts to you if it feels like it.
move the stick to the left, and your character doesn't move in the direction you pressed, but instead first has to check how to animate "smoothly" and then, if you're lucky and the stars are aligned correctly, your character will roughly move in the direction you wanted him to move towards.

in Max Payne 3 the Euphoria Engine is a subordinate of your inputs... and in RDR2 your inputs are the subordinates of the Euphoria Engine.

the Euphoria Engine was never meant to be used with the main character of a game btw. it was always designed with the idea of enemy AIs in mind. the fact that Rockstar uses Euphoria for the player character instantly comes with many issues. and in Max Payne 3, it was the only time they actually made it work decently well

Max Payne 3 still holds up pretty well on PC but will gladly take a remaster with improved textures and better lighting. Definitively in for GTA IV remaster as well. If true, that is.

And since I missed the multiplayer for MP3 would be nice to experience that.

Ooooooh ok, agree, i have no idea how rockstar regressed in both gta5 and rdr2 control wise.

If Cthulhu exist, we get gta6 with mp3 mechanics 🕺

Its a such a great game I come back to it every few years or so.

The game aged really well despite being a 7th gen console title. The graphics, animations and game mechanics in there was well on top of the game; at the time. And still is one of the best TPS out there. Shame it didn't sell all that well. Really overlooked title.

Hopefully this will bring help bring the audience back in. And we have Max Payne 1-2 remake from Remedy themselves coming in the next few years to look forward to.
