It's 60fps on Xbox. 720p. I suppose controls are a matter of preference.
I never liked the game, but the current way to play on Xbox is not bad.

I was so disappointed when Max Payne 3 got its FPS Boost update on Series X but they left the resolution as is at freakin 720p
As far as im concerned all those games with BC that got FPS boosted may as well have been left at 30 fps because without improving resolution they all look like utter disgusting poop on a 4k tv.
What a waste of the BC program that was....and Max Payne 3 of all games could've looked incredible at 4k or even 1440p but MS wanted to take the lazy approach to BC.
Imagine how great the Series X could've been with a BC program that went all the way on updating games for modern displays! One of MS and Spencer's many fumbles

Max Payne 3 never got FPS Boost on Series X. It's still stuck at its original fps cap, which is, oddly enough, 33fps.
Add: Here's an off-screen video of the game on a Series X running on a 120hz VRR monitor.

The PC version of Max Payne 3 still looks great. I guess they could update it with raytracing, path tracing, and newer hardware features.

Yeah, thanks, but no. I'd rather "dick around" for 10 minutes installing a restoration mod pack that brings back all the 360 graphical effects, all the music, and unlocks the framerate to 60 FPS that's actually stable (unlike the Xbox Enhanced version, which literally can't be completed in 60 FPS mode) to get a definitive experience. What's 10 minutes compared to a 20+ hour experience?
