Look – we don't need to go into what happened. You can read about that [here]. For some strange reason, we were not able to share our 2024 Game of the Year awards the same time we have been for more than a decade. What matters is we're here now. We may be late to the party, but that doesn't mean 2024 wasn't full of fantastic games that we are eager to highlight. You can find our top 10 games of 2024 below, as well as a collection of additional specific category awards. Last year may have been a tough year for Game Informer, but we didn't want it to mean that we skipped a year celebrating the best the industry had to offer. Thanks for sticking with us!

I think Animal Well was a bit overhyped but Prince of Persia was a much better game than FFVII Rebirth.

I think it's a pretty good list, their top 4 is pretty much my top 4 (though I'd have them in a different order). Makes me want to check out a couple on there that I haven't played.

So having finally completed Metaphor I can say without any hesitation, it was overrated and not a better game than FF7 Rebirth.

Play it on a console. By now I would wait for NCAA 26. but the game is really good. Some stuff I did not like was the recruiting mechanic. It just became cumbersome but not engaging gave you terrible players.

As someone playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth i'd say that it's actually one of the best games of the past few years tbh.

Space Marine 2, Stellar Blade, and Rebirth are the top 3 best games of 2024.

FFVII Rebirth is the best game of the year, followed by Astro. Putting it that low behind Prince of Persia and Animal Well is absurd. I platinumed and liked all four, but those two are just your pretty standard 2D metroidvanias that we get 100 of every year.
