I am pretty sure with good armor I could take a whole army of people with the same size difference on the opposite side from me.

really good armor would probably make a giant virtually immune to arrows or pikes and lances, so you'd mostly have to worry about tiny people hacking away at your legs. If I were to kill a giant in heavy armor, I'd probably use wildfire

It seems like I recall them looting pretty much what you could call the town square last season towards the very end. The place were most scenes were shot inside qarth. Jorah and Dany were by a golden statue and they said something to the extent of, "this ought to get a ship" and you could see Dany's enterouge looting the hell out of everything in the background.

During that scene it was the courtyard of Xaro Xhoan Daxos' mansion (or inside of the mansion) which was where Dany spent a lot of her time while in Qarth and not the city square. Even with the leaders and the warlocks dead, it was still a vibrant city with people beyond the 13 and there would have been guards, etc., that her 50 or so Dothraki couldn't have possibly overpowered, even from inside the walls.

I answered the question you didn't ask and the one you did.

She plundered the coffers of the dead guys in Qarth I believe, which was a lot. And it's called Qarth. ;)

I thought she only took the black guy's stuff and spent it all on the one ship.

Just watched the histories and lores on season 2 last night. They were really well done, but the Qarth one has me thinking. If the 13 only rule the city because they're powerful and only rule until someone else powerful decides to contest the claim... does Dany now basically rule the city? Are there 13 others that have sprouted up?

Well Dany left so there might be some fighting going on for the scraps inside the city.

Didn't her dragons kill the warlock? How is that mother fucker still alive? Good thing Obe-Wan was there to save the day.

Yeah that guy was a sham.

But after the magic guy killed the council she looted their corpses or homes. My memory is a little fuzzy. I probably need to rewatch it.

Didn't they say that it was another one?

It was a pretty weak ass attempt on her life. I'd expect more from a magic demon child.

Magic, I suppose. The warlock indicated to Dany in the S2 finale that their powers had begun to grow and strengthen since her dragons were born. So perhaps they've gained power to the point where they can transcend death. Or he never died in the first place.

This scene was in Xaro's palace, right after they locked him in his vault.

The joke was he had nothing.

His vault was empty, but he still had the riches on display inside his palace.

I got the impression at the end of season 2 that they have money. Even though guy's vault was empty and a lot of Qarth's riches were found to be phony, it seemed like they made off with more than a lot of money looting what they could. I believe she intends to actually pay for the nipple men if she decides to go through with the offer.

Edit: thanks for the clarification of it being X's place. I just assumed it was a public space because I thought I recalled some scenes of them being there along with a bunch of regular Qarth citizens. For instance, once when they first got there and she stopped a raki from stealing the golden figure and another time when the warlock was doing his magic tricks and people applauded.

Update (because let's face it: what is GoT without the cool-wall?):

^yay my creation lives on :)

the wall is missing the new, old knight guy ('cool'), Margaery should be moved to 'cool' and Tywin was 'seriously uncool' this episode

Having recently come from watching the Walking Dead, it's obvious the two shows are very different. While it also has a large cast it's primarily centered on group the whole time, in a single location.

The Walking Dead has double the cast, double the stories in a ton of different locations.

The Walking Dead had 16 episodes for season 3 and yet fans are upset saying they are filler.

You can't say the same for Game of Thrones. My only recommendation would be 1 hour and 30 minute openers and finales. Maybe two hours. It's a better way to reintroduce the audience to the cast and situations or send them out with a bang waiting for the next season.

Hahaha, don't make me laugh.gif

The character development for GoT is fucking light years ahead of that pile of shit called season 3 TWD.

The "They said you lost your nose" line gave me a good laugh xD

Arya needs to be waaaaaaaaaay higher ... sometimes I think she is way overpower on the series

Why the hell is the new episode not on amazon or iTunes yet >:[. HBO is leaving a lot of money on the table here cause people are just pirating it since they can't get it.

HBO makes their money on subscriptions and DVD sales. Episodes of their shows are not available on services such as Amazon, iTunes, Xbox Video, etc until the DVD sets come out.

he was brutal in that scene. Poor Tyrion was close to tears

It was the first time I ever saw Tywin as a complete piece of shit. Not that his penchant for burning villages to the ground was any less tolerable, but still.

No argument here. I thought it was the best scene in the episode and didn't change my views on Tywin.

He's such a great character (with a great actor), but I'm so looking forward to what Tyrion does now, he's been under his fathers shadow for so long, trying to please him, well that's finished.

I'm looking forward to his revenge. I really hope that happens.

I know, I worded it poorly. I meant to say, that TWD feels a lot like filler despite it having 16 episode seasons. And that Game of Thrones does better with less and even has more stories to follow as well.

I'd prefer 90 minute season openers and finales however for Game of Thrones.

I wish they'd do extended episodes for the DVD/BR.

So do you guys think the guy is messing with Dany by holding up 8 fingers? She assumed that 8 meant 8 thousand, but he appears to hate foreigners so he might only be willing to sell her 8.

If you listen you will realise it was the female translator who said "eight thousand", confirming it.
