LOL @ Jaime. Not so tough now, eh? The North always remembers.

Yeap the North definitely remembers... the Northern grunts doing the dirty work for the Starks through loyalty and not through coin. Hopefully Bran will somehow know some justice is being done in his name.

Even after the hit, there is a silent moment until he actually looks at his hand, followed by the scream, which fades into black screen. THEN credits+music (which is why it wasn't a problem for me at all)

Yeah, WTf that would have been fine. I need to check with someone else to see if it happened to them.

Why don't any of the women ever die on the show?

It's a harsh world yet they all seem to live through it.

Well only one of them is a soldier. Plus I think plenty of women have died around Daenerys, no? (that makes sense too as she's had the most vulnerable civilian population)

Yes. For everyone: the music is not meant to start until the credits! You can youtube the ending (there's a video of the last 7 or so minutes). I too thought it very jarring when the music started as his hand was being chopped off... So did some research!

And to the chap above debunking my thoughts, well played.

But the music is jarring because it's so unexpected and out of touch with the universe. I was like wtf just happened and why is rock music starting to play lol.

If it was just a silent credits, my mind would still be on Jamie's hand as opposed to the music. I don't know it kind of removed me from the scene which is exactly what you don't want for that moment.

The music at the end was so out of place, that it shook me out of being wonderfully astounded at his hand being chopped off, and instead focusing on the shocking music selection instead.

Seems that Margaery's bro is digging on Sansa. That's her way out for the time being I would guess.

Yeah I'm sure he's just playing hard to get.

Sansa: "Oh remember you gave me that rose at the tournament!"
Loras: *blank stare*
Sansa: "You know, the ... rose... at the king's tournament, you gave me one."
Loras: "Ohhhhhhhh, right, yeah... of course I did." *walks off*

Yeah, whoever was responsible for that should have his hand chopped off and then have that music played - see how he likes it.

So what dores everyone think will happen with the dragon? Will she have it kill the slave trader or will she turn the unsullied against him since she will command them all.

I'm not really enjoying this season, even though on the face of it, it's just as good as years prior. I don't know what it is. Probably me. Not enough Ygritte for sure.

I don't know but my heart dropped when she offered the dragon. Every bit of hoarding old-school RPG supply memories came bubbling to the surface.

I think she'll use the unsullied ones. She could use it as a way to test all their years of training.

I wouldn't be surprised if that dragon just turns on his new master and comes back as soon as Danny has her army. Though that would almost be too easy

But you'd think the Slaver would know this no? I mean everyone in the world wants a dragon. Surely he'd have the means to control or tame them?

How lame would it be though, for this guy to give her all the Unsullied and then Dany just says that chant and has the Slaver burned?

Do dragons listen to anyone else? Isn't Dany called the mother of dragons because they listen to her/born to her? Wouldn't only she command them?

Yeah, really wonder how that works. It would make sense if the Slaver has something up his sleeve but even the Warlocks couldn't handle the dragons, and back then they were tiny.

Haha yeah I couldnt believe it for a second.

Exactly what I was thinking, they made a point to her asking about their loyalty many times, even right after the deal was made she was assured they would do whatever she commanded. Which is why I imagine she needs all of them. Including those being trained.

Yeah, I am thinking it seems to easy and like the warlock situation.

I'm not sure the slave trader would have an army like the unsullied, and not instill into them some sort of clause, that regardless of who commands them, they are not to attack the slave trader. He looks kinda shrewd, I don't think he'd make that sort of blunder.

The dragon, that's another matter though.

Dany knows everything this that slimeball is saying. There is no way she is leaving a dragon with him. And she is a bleeding heart, no way she will leave a whole city full of slaves. She going to destroy another city.

After two seasons of bitching about dragons, there is no way in hell I believe she is going to willingly part with any.

I just assume she's going use her new army to take it back, she continually asked about the soldier's loyalties. The dragon's going to want to get back to her, she has a massive slave army, and the dragon's owners have none. Pretty obvious what's going to happen at this point.

PREVIEW SPOILER:
I think its made quite obvious in the preview that she'll use the unsullied against the guy. "Is it done then?" (something along those lines). If the guy has a backup plan, we wait to see!

"So your going to take all my soldiers, even the trainees, all of whom have a fanatical devotion to whoever owns them, and in return you'll give me your biggest dragon.... A dragon which has some sort of magical bond to you and obeys your commands."

"Yep...."

"SOLD"

I think I know where this is going.... :p

Still waiting for Ser Barristan's Yoda-moment.

At this point I have to wonder what are they going to do in order to avoid the "I knew this was coming" factor.

-Nobody with half a brain believes that Dany is going to give away one of her babies. Also, using them to burn the slave trader would be a bit trite.

-Turning her new army against the city/trader would also be odd/predictable. Surely that piece of shit would take measures against such thing, right?

I don't know, I'm just seeing some really dumb "gotcha" scenarios. Then again, this show always finds a way to surprise me.

I'm beginning to think she has more on her mind than simply screwing that dirtbag over. Bigger things.

Here's a not-so-crazy idea: she freeds the slaves from the city and uses them as auxiliary for her new army.

The only problem would be making it credible and/or catching us by surprise.

Yeah. I credit GRRM with having more smarts than that.

I'm toying with the idea that the warlocks are in cahoots with the slave trader, and this exchange (an exchange where Dany believes herself to have the upper hand), will not go quite to plan. The warlocks know about her dragons, they won't underestimate them again.

I wouldn't be surprised when she just burns the entire city to the ground. Maybe she'd think of it as a favor for the slaves (remember the one on the cross saying "let me die" )

Assuming that the Dany situation is resolved and she gets the Unsullied, how are they going to convey that 8000 (and perhaps more if she frees the slaves) in regards to the budget?

Hey guys, how much of the books do the first 3 seasons cover? Is it all the first book still, or are they nearing the end of the books?

I want to start reading the books, but I'm hoping there's lots of content I can discover myself when reading the books.

Season 1 = Book 1
Season 2 = Book 2
Season 3 = first half of book 3 + stuff taken/derived from book 4/5 (one series of events regarding one character in particular does not happen in any way before book 5, but does in Season 3, due to the weird chronology of the books).

I'm guessing the character is

Even if you start from the first book there would still be a lot of new content/different content/extra characters etc. because of all of the changes/removals in the tv series
