The show has established that bastards can be legitimized so look for Gendry of the House Baratheon in Season 6 after he gets done rowing.

Melisandre reviving Jon or something like that would be fair game, but having Stannis survive would really feel like cheating.

Well, Robert's dead, so he really can't.

Kings legitimize bastards not their parents. See Stannis's offer of legitimacy to Jon last season despite Ned or whoever his real parents are being dead. I doubt Tommen is in any rush to legitimize his "father's" bastards anyways.

At any rate I was only joking. Gendry probably just fell out the boat and drowned in the bottom of Blackwater Bay.

Finished the finale.

It was a good episode but I'm growing tired of this show's shtick. Using constant death as the only main plot device is starting to get a bit tiresome.

I see your point. But there's been other plot devices, really. Like Dany's dragons and war turning point victories (kings landing defense, wall's defense, etc.) ... But I think the deaths hit harder than the high points so it's understandable that they are felt more.

Meli says herself that there are only two Gods, the Lord of Light and the God of Death.

,,,,,,,,,,

So I'm currently rewatching and I'm on S2 and I can't believe people rate this one as their lowest, it's soooo good.

Just wanted to point out this little foreshadowing.

Remember this lady?

Jorah approaches her looking for answers as to who stole the dragons and she says to him as she's painting some dude"This man must sail past old Valyria, all who travel close to the doom must have protection" to which he replies "I didn't come here for lessons".

Season 2 is awesome - I feel like people forget just how much happened compared to some of the other seasons. The war is in full swing, Dany's at probably her lowest point so far, Jon is off going double-agent among the wildlings, Arya and Tywin are having awesome little chats, Jaqen gets introduced, Stannis the Mannis is introduced... fantastic season.

And I was JUST thinking about that lady, too. Who was she? I had completely forgotten that she showed up in Qarth. There was quite a bit of mystery in season 2 that never really got resolved. We never found out who she was or what her "prophecies" came to, I hope she shows up again at some point in the show and isn't just forgotten.

Maybe she´ll heal Jorah, she might be covered in fancy blankets because of grayscale scars. Would be cool, there is no reason for him to die since he redeemed himself and is on the way to new adventures.

Or she´s chilling with Benjen.

In the spirit of Game of Thrones, I'd say he's probably fucked. Although it will probably be a very slow death. He'll stick around for a while. I think the main plot reason he got the disease is because it'll make him more determined. If he knows he's a goner, he has nothing to lose.

There'll be some macguffin in the ruins of Valyria and he'll have to go infiltrate the stone men.

I was pretty sure that Brienne did kill Stannis. He's lost everything and I don't see what they can do with the character that would be interesting, but then I saw this and now I don't know what to believe:

D. B. Weiss said:
“In a show, everybody sees it for what it is. It’s that rule: ‘If don’t see the body then they’re not really dead. Like when we cut Ned’s head off, we didn’t want a gory Monty Python geyser of blood, but we needed to see the blade enter his neck and cut out on the frame where the blade was mid-neck—it was longest discussion ever of where to cut a frame; two hours of talking about whether to cut at frame six or frame seven or frame eight. And that’s all by way of saying we needed Ned’s death to be totally unambiguous.

My prediction for the future after so many "ambiguous death" in the last episode:

Sansa/Theon: Not dead... yet :p Maybe Ramesy finds them in episode 1 and do what Ramesy likes to usually do

Myrcella: Dead from poison

Jon Snow: Dead but may get revived at some point later on in the show. Maybe not next season but who knows

Stannis: Not dead. I feel like somebody is behind Brienne and that's why Stannis keeps looking behind her. Maybe that squire kid pushed her off her balance a bit so she would miss that sword swing.

So in conclusion, only Myrcella is truly dead dead dead. Poor kid :p

What makes people believe they won't burn him? They know white walkers exist and I doubt they would just leave his body laying there rotting. When would the red woman have a chance to bring him back to life?

i think I was just MAJORLY spoiled (somewhere else) for shit to come, unless the show is veering far from the book... FUCK! Sometimes, I loath the Internet. U_U

During this past season a lot of people were disappointed and under the impression that Arya wouldn't be able to kill the people on her list and that she'd end up having to kill randoms, in the second season Jaqen makes her an offer to come with him to Braavos and mentions them all, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, The Hound etc. telling her that she can offer them one by one to the Many Faced God.

So there's hope yet that he might allow her to get revenge on them, and pretty good confirmation that there won't really be an real repercussions for killing Trant.

Starks always die prematurely, never accomplishing their goal or reaching their potential. I won't be surprised when Arya suffers the same fate.

I don't think this is possible because

if Melisandre doesn't revive him or they are suddenly overrun by white walkers, you can be pretty sure they'll burn his corpse.

Maybe we just won't see Castle Black for a season. It'd be a nice break honestly.

Castle Black scenes were some of this best this season, it would be a disappoint to see it gone entirely for a season especially with the incoming army north of the wall. Davos and Melisandre are both there so I think we'll see it in season 6.

isn't Gendry the blacksmith dead wasn't the last time we saw her the lord of light forest robbers sold her to Messlisandre and since we havent' seen him with Stannis in what 2-3 seasons, wasn't his blood used to create the shadow that killed Renley? did it take his entire lifeforce to create the shadow that killed renley or was it Stannis blood used to create the shadow

I'm so confused on this topic.

The shadow was created from the "essence" of Stannis. Sadly for him, he couldn't give her any more without harming/killing himself in the process. So they caught Gendry and used leeches on him to curse several of Stannis's enemies. They intended to sacrifice him, but Davos helped him escape in a boat. We haven't seen him since.

oh yeah the boat I do remember that now, and wasn't he a bad rower flopping all around as Davos tried to get into the boat. No clue on how he was to get away or survive and somesuch.

I don't see how they could. If you look at the HBO map, Hardhome is far too close to The Wall to postpone the White Walkers arrival for a whole season.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have White Walkers obliterate Castle Black in the first couple of episodes though.

they'll try and he'll survive the flames and rise again.
the red lady will see him for the champion of the light that he is, his valerian lightbringer in hand.
